A little over a week ago, I got a message from Korny asking if I'd had time to play my 7 games of Crimson Doubles on Xbox to secure my 320 Ghost. I said "no, and I doubt I'll have time."

Being the nice guy that he is, Korny offered to play on my account for me so my baby Hunter could get the ghost. So a couple hours before the weekly reset, I sent him my log-in info and said "thanks!".

I just turned on my Xbox for the first time since last week to claim my ghost. The last time I had seen my Hunter, she was around 200 light with a pair of year 1 legendary weapons and a bunch of blue and green armor.

After 2 hours in Korny's care, my Hunter now has 9 new legendary weapons and armor (including an Eyasluna with rangefinder and reactive reload), 3 new exotics, and 3 Crimson Doubles ghost shells in addition to the 320 shell waiting for me at the postmaster. She went from 200 light to 260.

All of this in what... 2 hours, tops? Aside from Trials and Iron Banner, I think I've had somewhere between 5-10 legendary drops from crucible matches since TTK launched! Over 30 games of Crimson Doubles over on PS4 and not a single ghost drop!

Korny, I don't know what dark magic you practice, but consider me converted. I am your faithful apprentice.

A bit longer than two hours, since Claude was willing to help me run through to the last Bounty (a few games past his last call, no less). DiscipleN2K was also a big help. Not many people want to hop into competitive matchmaking with a low-light newbie, so a big thanks to them (and the folks that were willing to sit the games out while I kidnapped them).

No problem. It was definitely a fun challenge; before I got the Party Crasher, I was using a green shotgun and Sniper. I grew to love your Answering Chord, and gained an appreciation for how good Sammy is with a Gunslinger, since I was pretty lousy with it (having my own Tripmine thrown back at me bad).

Claude and I ran into a super laggy team that beat us thanks to some pretty questionable gameplay, but for the most part all of the matches went smoothly, and we had loads of fun (at least I did). Good times, can't wait until you're Trials ready.

Over 30 games of Crimson Doubles over on PS4 and not a single ghost drop!

It seems pretty clear based on many anecdotal stories that the Crimson Double ghost rate drop was tied to maximum light level obtained. All my friends that were <300 light got multiple ghost drops, usually within the first couple of games. I played 30+ and didn't get anything.

Admittedly, I couldn't even pick up the Crimson Doubles quest or bounties on my level 35 guy until I hit level 40 (which took me all of 8 games), and then I got my guy up to 295 immediately just using whatever I had lying around in the vault. But yeah, no ghosts at all from any of the 20+ games I played.
