She should be thankful. They would let her out of her contract if she apologized to Dr. Luke. lol.
The whole thing is all screwed up. Avril left Sony as soon as she could as well, but has had nothing but good things to say about Dr. Luke, and Dr. Luke has always been friendly with acquaintances of mine who have met him and chatted with him. Almost meek, really.
That said, Sony has supposedly agreed to do Kesha's new albums without Dr. Luke having anything to do with them, which Kesha's side said wasn't good enough because they wouldn't promote the record. She then went on to say that she would rather ruin her career than lie again. So why isn't she taking this Sony deal? Might as well ruin her career while putting out records and being paid.
Dr. Luke hasn't been charged, Sony and Kesha have a contract that, AFAIK, neither of them have really breached, and Sony will let her work without Dr. Luke. Seems like a safe solution to me. Put out some records and tour, dude.

Was obviously referring to the last paragraph.
Then played off of your joke. No reason to earn money for a label that supports your attacker.
They do want her to drop the charges, which is hilarious.

Very cool. Anyone familiar with Alex Nawabi or know what position he holds at Sony? There doesn't seem to be much info out there other than repeats of this same story.
