I know everyone hates trickle... but IMO exposure is even worse.

Aww well, I'm only ~300 light so I doubt I'll be read for this either way.

Just run around in a group, assists are good. It isn't fun like the last two weeks, but the last boss is such a complete joke that there isn't much to worry about.

Dust off the ole' Monte Carlo

And Sealed Ahamkara Grips. Also, that gunslinger talent that makes precision throwing knife kills automatically refresh your knife. There's probably a reason to be a non-hunter, but I don't know what that might be.

Gunslingers will have a blast.

I do think the new-and-improved Sunsingers might have a good chance too, with our own Ahamkara and Song of Flame. Remember, kids, Fireborn slows melee charge now!

The gunslinger throwing knife with automatic reset on precision kills will be ideal this week for sure. Plus, the kills count as both melee kills and precision kills. Last week that gave me the same points as a grenade kill when I tried it so this week that will be the best way to max out the score. Guess I'll have to dust off my hunter even though I like my Titan more. :)

One more reason I love this PoE challenge. We have all this loot that we have collected and now we can finally scheme and plan the best way to approach each weeks challenge. This is like Nightfall by times ten! I love it!

Ran it this morning with double throwing knives and Juggler on, I easily got 30% more points than my teammates without breaking a sweat. When my throwing knives ran out, killed a couple enemies with Monte Carlo and I was back at it.

Found it fairly simple.

by Funkmon @, Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 21:01 (3227 days ago) @ Korny

Me and probablylast got 47k or so per run. We just punched guys.

Trickle and Exposure? No Brawler either. I don't think Monte Carlo will be enough to sway me.

Anyone gonna try and melee the boss?

No, didn't think so.

Why would you do that?

Why would you try to melee the boss? It only gets you like 160 extra points or whatever each round. You get 1000 just for killing the boss period.

I think the bonuses are bigger when applied to the boss. But even so, I doubt many people will risk it this week.

I'm definitely in. My Defender's going to wreck them. :)

Everyone finds it so imperative to kill the boss using the bonus method. It was headshots, then grenades, now melees. And I'm wondering how far people will go for a few extra points.

Deaths are of zero consequence. Get the boss to a sliver then go punch him twice and you get bonus points for literally no risk.

It seems totally inconsequential until two of you do that and die because it turns out the boss wasn't quite close enough to dead, and the third player who was supposed to be hanging back gets stuck on geometry or panics, and is killed.

I'm basing my assessment on an assumption that 45k runs aren't going to be as easy this week, meaning most of us will probably be doing 3 runs. And if that's the case, 1000 or so extra points isn't going to matter enough for the risk, but also not enough for the wasted time eeking the boss down to just the right level. But I have not actually run it yet this week, so I could be wrong about the totals.

45k runs aren't hard if you actually melee everything.

You guys might be overthinking it. It isn't fun like the previous two weeks, but it still isn't actually difficult.

But since this topic was about maximizing points, there is no real reason to avoid punching the boss to death when he's obviously going to die soon. Just only send one guy.

Avatar

Yes.

by Funkmon @, Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 05:22 (3226 days ago) @ ProbablyLast

Timer irrelevant. Just never fire a shot, never throw a grenade, you'll get 45k. Did it with two and with three this week. Send a guy, if he dies, send another guy to revive him. Exposure's on for pete's sake. It's hard to die quickly.

We mêlée'd the boss most of the time this week.

Come to think of it, it might be fairly easy depending on how you do it. Maybe have a Defender drop a Blessing bubble near the boss, and whoever's doing the attacking could just dip back into it when they get hit.
