Rise of Iron Release Fireteam (Destiny)

by Cody Miller @, Music of the Spheres - Never Forgot, Saturday, June 11, 2016, 16:42 (3181 days ago)

I made a fireteam event for September 19th.

The idea would be to play the strike, and the PoE challenge mode one time with whoever wants to do it. Then, we can tackle Rise of Iron together as it releases. No lone wolves. I had a good time doing Dark Below story missions with a fireteam. Anybody want to stay up late and play when it drops?

As for the raid, I do not know the release date, but I don't want to rush it. Who wants to sign the pledge?

I, ________, hereby promise to remain spoiler free for the raid in order to tackle it with Cody Miller and company in a reasonable time frame as determined by the fireteam, so as to enjoy the rest of the game and not have to rush through. I will not talk to anyone about the raid, watch videos of any kind, read descriptions, or learn any strategies.

Signed,

______

I'm looking forward to playing with the crew, and a few weeks of fun before I go back to complaining.

I'll definitely be eager to do the Raid with the DBO crew, but I ain't signing no stupid tryhard pledge ("we do not kneel" and all that). Feel free to sign me up for the PS4 raid FTB when that's up. Should be a ton of fun.

I don't want to play with anyone who knows the raid. I want to do it blind. If you can't promise to be spoiler free, I guess you can play it sooner.

Why the 19th?

Release date is the 20th - why are you trying to do this a day early?

Play PoE and strike the night of the 19th. Reset happens and we continue playing Rise of Iron on what is now release date. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Ah. Should have been. I didn't understand.

In my opinion Destiny was more fun when everything wasn't a rush.

There is so much pressure to blow through any new content that comes out that you don't really get a chance to savor it.

I didn't get -any- enjoyment out of TTK because of that mentality so I stopped playing. I fired Destiny up for the first time last night since December and it felt 'meh' at best.

I think going in blind is a good idea. I remember enjoying TDB content up until the point I played with DBOers who had already solved everything, and when we weren't solving other puzzles as fast as them the ultra hints took the fun out of it.

What I don't think is a good idea is trying to do it all day 1. Stay away from forums and game news sites. There is such a rush to post all the new hotness too quick.

IDK. Just my thoughts on it.

I don't think it necessarily matters WHEN you do it. All that matters is that you can take your time and ENJOY it.

I'd love to run through the new content with a fireteam, but that's a bit too late at night even for me :)

If anyone else wants to jump into it on the night of the 20th with me, I'm up for that.

As far as the raid goes, I'll gladly do a blind run with the DBO crowd, as long as there isn't a mad rush to get "raid ready". If we can get a group who is committed to staying blind for at least a week or two after the launch of the raid, then I could join in :)

That's exactly the idea!

Would love to have a fireteam to play with. I don't plan doing the new raid right away; I'll wait until it's figured out :-p. Kidding. sortof. I do hope that bungie doesn't open the raid right away though. give it a good week or two to let all the other content be digested some.
