It looks amazing! I've never played it so this is an easy buy for me!
Also mods for consoles!

You're in for a treat.
I'm honestly torn. I loved Skyrim (not as much as Morrowind, though!). I think the whole remaster thing is a stupid trend, and this game isn't even old enough to really warrant that treatment. And yet, I honestly might buy the damn thing (If I ever stop playing The Witcher 3, which is the only thing I've touched in two weeks, on a third play through of the game).
*Done* - Quake, Pray, Dishonored 2, More Fallout 4 stuffs.

"Prey"
May not be the original Prey that I have fond memories of... but it looks a million times better than the stupid Prey 2 that they showed off some years back, so... I'm hopeful.

It is indeed old enough, it's five years old!
And believe me, Sammy and I got Skyrim at launch on the 360, put hundreds of hours into it.
Two years later, we got it for PC, put hundreds of hours into it.
Now, we're throwing money at the screen again, and it'll totally be worth yet another playthrough (with mods!).
Fallout 4 is fun and all, but Skyrim is still the better game by leaps and bounds.
Free for Legendary Edition owners. That costs like $15.
Consolists getting annihilated on this one.
EDIT: btw, I just heard this as a rumor. Not sure if accurate.
EDIT: just going to remove what I said because I can't find any evidence of it and change my post entirely.
Quake. Let's All Jump On That Boat Too!

Dishonored 2
That trailer was gorgeous. I think I'm more excited about this game than any other this year. Uncharted 4 was great, but I came at it from the perspective of someone who only liked the Uncharted series. Dishonored was so good--both the story and gameplay were fantastic--it's a game with few flaws. It's well worth playing if you haven't yet.
Mods for consoles will be fantastic

Not a fan of this Quake thing.

"Prey" - I.E. Aliens are farming us
I thought the plot and background of Prey was very interesting, and they had some good technology in the portal size changes and gravity effects, but the level design and player interface really didn't utilize that much. I felt the dev's shied away from too much of the body horror concepts you see early on in the first few levels as well, (your girlfriend's demise not withstanding).
There is plenty of narrative space to bring in a sequel, but they need to rethink the player abilities in the age of vertical movement that FPS have entered into. If they combined the movement modes of Titanfall or Destiny with a Portal 2 style portal system, they have a good start.
Wasn't a big fan of the first one
I played back in the day, was pretty good too but didn't like it, as I was starting to get frustrated with the whole standard FPS setup at the time (You had your powerweapon/health pack loop that you needed to cycle through to maintain your advantage.)
Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity were out and consuming much of my time as well. The psudo 3D of Bungie's offering still looked better in my mind then the full 3D of Quake, and the plot, oh the plot was so much better. The next big graphical game to grab my attention was Unreal in '98.
Of course a year later Steve Jobs made a certain announcement at Macworld that instantly caught my attention...
Anyway, The 3D environs that are Quake's claim to fame are pretty much ubiquitous at this point. Anyone can license the Havok physics engine and the Unreal engine and get a top notch basis for their game. Good design now comes really from the art, level and gameplay design, and I doubt Quake will innovate much in these categories.
Wasn't a big fan of the first one
I liked it, and I liked other Quake games as arena shooters. I wonder if there's just no market anymore for a game like Unreal Tournament and Quake anymore. They have to have these TF2 style classes.
The Rumors were true - Skyrim Remastered
Loved Skyrim and am looking forward to playing the remaster. Good news indeed
We are coming up on over 20 years of shooters
I think the old style shooters with weapons, ammunition and health littered around the map are done. Older gamers like myself have played them to death and are tired of the limited strategies they offer.
The newer games allow you either customization of your player beforehand to suit your skills (al la Destiny/Halo/Titanfall/COD) or are team based (Overwatch, Team Fortress).
This puts the emphasis on knowing your loadout in relationship to your opponents and positioning yourself to the best advantage. Destiny still tries to promote movement with the ammo spawns, which I appreciate. Other games can quickly devolve into camp fests without objectives or a reason to leave your preferred location.
That rarely happened in the older style games. I got really good with the default weapons in Halo mostly because my teammates always hogged the power weapons (ineffectively I might add). You also had to be very observant about what weapons a person was carrying because that was the only difference in characters, and there was a whole strategy of hiding your other equipped weapon to lure people in.
You also had the issue where if you won the first encounter, you were pretty much doomed in the second unless you could find a health pack. The regenerating health mechanic that is now ubiquitous was really an outstanding innovation. It keeps people engaged, but still limits the encounter times.
Doom did it perfectly.

Is the MP any good, though?
I've heard terrible things of the Beta.
Dishonored 2

Just rolled through Wolfenstein: The New Order again recently, and I kept thinking, "Damn, Dishonored needs some time soon."
Bethesda's involved in so many things I love. Heh.
I only played snapmap. Seems fine.
The multiplayer has been supposedly fixed and gotten better since the beta.
