I am thinking about buying this game when I get off work.

But I had a question for anyone here that has played it: does it have any kind of matchmaking? I know it has co-op, but do you have to do invites and all that, or can you just hop in with randoms?

ANSWER? YES. /Torgue

You can start a game and leave it open to random people, friends only, or invite only. You can join a game a la matchmaking, where it places you with people close in level and progress in the game. You can also search available games, and join whatever the heck you want, assuming space is available.

Sniping Bandits out in The Dust last night from far, far away upon a cliff overlooking a gorgeous vista, psyched me up for similar encounters in Destiny. Nevermind the thought of stumbling into a Public Event in progress in a location like that.
