The post bluerunner linked covers it all, but my favorites:

* New customization options (basically skins) you can find for earned or exotic sets of armor (like raid and IB) and weapons.
* New Khvostov rifle is an exotic that has firing modes and speeds you can choose from, basically making it into the type of gun you want.
* New activity in the Plaguelands that's between PoE and CoO.
* You randomly get Strike skeleton keys for finishing strike playlist and Nightfalls, which make it so the next time you play a strike to earn one of the exclusive items
* Festival of the Lost returning in October, in addition to SRL in December, woo!
