Rejoice, for Patrick Klepek has left Kotaku! (Gaming)
My personal distaste for Kotaku is not secret. I've always liked Patrick Klepek, though, since his Giant Bomb days, and he's the only reason I grudgingly visited Kotaku.
It's old news by about a week now, but he has left Kotaku to join the gaming arm of Vice. Austin Walker left Giant Bomb about a month ago to take charge of Vice Gaming.
I think this is great news. Austin and Patrick are both very conscious of social issues and two of the very few people in the gaming press that I feel conduct actual journalism about issues surrounding games and gaming culture. I am very eager to see what Austin does with Vice Gaming, and hiring Patrick already shows hints of what he is trying to build.
Hopefully we get a regular podcast with the two of them--I miss Austin on the Giant Beastcast.
