I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to get 30,000 points to have a chance at getting the exotics to drop upon completion.

The best way to farm for the PoE exotics is to go in there with Touch of Malices and just unload on the boss until he's dead. You just gotta make sure that at least one of you stays alive at all times to revive the other two as they kill themselves with the Touch of Malice. This strat is especially effective when Small Arms is one of the modifiers and even doubly moreso if Exposed is on as well - but even without those modifiers, you should be able to finish each round in about 90 seconds or less.

A Titan Bubble with either Weapons of Light or Blessing of Light (after you burn your overshield dip back in to recover, lowers deaths) can speed things along as well.
