I finally saw the Force Awakens....SPOILERS (Off-Topic)

by Schedonnardus, Texas, Monday, September 19, 2016, 02:51 (3224 days ago)

I finally joined the rest of society and saw the latest Star Wars flick b/c it finally made it to the movie channels (we had a 3 month old when it was in the theater, so we couldn
t go see it).

First of all, i feel like a dipshit and want to apologize to everyone. There was a huge megathread on here back when it came out. When the thread first started (and had not reached mega status) I posted "Snape kills Solo" in the thread. A lame attempt at the harry potter spoiler meme. A DBO admin deleted my post, and I assumed that they didn't get the joke. I did not know that Han actually died. I managed to stay spoiler free this whole time, and when Solo died in the film I immediately thought back to that thread and thought "welp, I'm an idiot"

So for that, I am sorry.

Awesome Movie btw.

No worries, TBH I feel like deleting your post was probably a (well-intentioned) overreaction. I mean, the classic Snap/Dumbledore spoiler joke is well known to all at this point. I have seen no Harry Potter films and I still get it. So, I would imagine that someone who had NOT seen TFA yet would read that, think "oh haha, brilliant spoiler joke," and move on. It's unlikely it would even occur to them that it could mean anything else.

Tl;DR

The only people who would SEE the half-spoiler present in your post are people who already knew about Han.

Anyway, yes I quite enjoyed the film. It accomplished exactly what it set out to do, and it did it with heart and appreciation of the classics.
