Um, what?
That's ridiculous. I hope whoever beat it are just unnatural super beings. This Raid better not be some cake walk. I already feel this expansion should have been $20, but wow.
Um, what?
Yea, I hope its at least as extensive as King's Fall.
argh!

IT IS FRIDAY!

Please no. King's Fall was way too long for me. Crota's a little short. The VoG hits the sweet spot.

The "raid elite" are always ridiculously fast

Honestly, I'd even be ok with Crota length. Some of my fondest Destiny memories are getting a fireteam together and crashing through Crota's End 3 times in a row and being done in like 90 minutes :)
Um, what?
I never said it I wanted it to be as long as far as time to complete, but extensive. I enjoyed the flow of King's fall, you were seldom ever just killing adds except for the beginning.

I don't think this bodes well...
How difficult can the mechanics be then? How do you solve everything a raid should be in 2 hours?

Do remember, Crota took 6 hours to beat, and it launched at the same time as the expansion! Most of the time was because they were heavily under leveled (they had to have a separate member who had been leveling at the same time sub in to even beat Crota). The hard mode of Crota only took 27 minutes! The team that completed this were all over 380, and the recommended light level to start the Raid is only 360. And they are obviously good Destiny. The first time I beat Crota (which was blind also) took my team more than a day to beat.
I'll be interested to see how long it takes people to beat it who aren't racing and who aren't over 380 (I doubt I will be even by next weekend).

I think Crota would have been perfect (for me) if it had:
1- a dynamic maze or a jumping puzzle or something that gave you some cool down time between bridge & the thrallway, or maybe between the thrallway & Ir Yût, or perhaps combined with the thrallway somehow. It would be have to be short, but not too short (maybe 2-4 minutes).
2- a bit fewer adds to kill after Ir Yût/before Crota. Now it seems quick, but way back when it just took a long time. Maybe it could have been improved by allowing us to chain more supers somehow, maybe break open a crystal that releases light temporarily increasing our super recharge rate.
3- a little less standing around & pointing at Crota.
Crota's End was a pretty good little raid. I'm going to guess this thing is closer to Crota's End than the VoG, & I'm really not terribly disappointed. What time difference are we talking about here anyway, VoG takes 40-45 minutes minimum? Crota's End around 25 minimum? So we're talking about a difference of 15-20 minutes on average once mastered. I guess I'd like the new one to fall in between the two... and I'm starting to ramble.

That a stellar, fully-leveled team could complete it in 2 hours is encouraging to me as a casual player who loves the game and the fun and camaraderie of raids, but just can't commit to several hours in a week to complete.

On some level Destiny players are like raid hackers, and we've gotten smarter. Just a thought.

We have just learned how to play the game, and we know what a raid 'is'. The VoG was special because nobody knew how raids operated, so to even figure out the 'rules' was fun and tricky.
But now we have a sense of what types of raid mechanics exist, and what is being asked of us as players.
I'm personally feeling like most of the discovery of Destiny is lost, because so little of the game is actually changing and I don't have to learn much new. I am hoping Destiny 2 shakes things up and makes us relearn a lot.

That would be cool.

+1, but . . .
Man. Even after knowing the language, figuring out King's Fall was no easy task. For our group anyway. I'll never forget banging our head against the wall that was Golgoroth for two nights straight with no real progress.
