While waiting in the explorable area past the Iron Temple for Beorn's internet connections to "git good", Xenos and I wondered about this strange structure on the boarder of the Plaguelands:

It is far more massive than even the Cosmodrome wall. It's just beyond the main lake that the Plaguelands encircle. And it appears to have a large central ball and multiple panels or wings that end in long, spindly structures...

Does anyone know what this strange thing is? Any guesses?

WotM spoilers incoming.

Just after you escape the death zambonie and make the jump down to the ledge below, you approach a large structure and head underground for the final section of the raid. I believe the structure in your screenshot above is that same structure. Just before you enter it, you can look across the water and clearly see the Plaguelands and the archon's forge.

I've only play through once... Are we talking about the tall mountain-ish area that is directly the drop down to the server room? Wasn't that made entire of rock with some debris around? I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention though so maybe I just missed it?

When running the Raid last night I think we saw what Cruel is talking about. It is a mountain to get into it, but I think when you move forward after dropping down you move into that which has the Perfection Complex inside of it. I'll have to look at it again though.

My guess is that it is a poorly rendered colony ship that has fallen over.

Sure, it doesn't look like it, but if you count the thrusters and other things that stick out from the body of the colony ships, and the launch platform towers, there is a sufficient quantity of things that stick out to match the strange object. Plus the visible sphere.

Doesn't look like a colony ship, but that's my guess and I'm sticking to it. At least until I run the Raid and check out Nevin's spoiler comment.

It's not a colony ship. I say this because if you get out to the outside of the Iron Temple area you can look left across the bay and see three models of actual colony ships. They're still standing and more or less the same distance away and they are significantly smaller. Roughly the same height when standing, but the three colony ship towers put together would have nowhere near the mass of this structure.

Yeah, it's the structure you enter at the end of the Raid.

Cool. I guess I was so busy playing I didn't notice. Might be a bit before I get to raid again so maybe one of you will take some shots of it up close.

Its low-poly silhouette screams Fallen design language. Alternatively the Darkness must have found it imperative to relocate the O2 in London to the Cosmodrome. Either way I can imagine a ton of fun in there if this is something we'll visit in due time. I figure we will considering how extravagant this is compared to the rest of the Cosmodrome's background features—derelict ships, ports, airfields, and highway systems. Could be cool for an Earth-based Arena.

Agreed on the Fallen feel

I almost immediately thought of the Fallen arena within the Prison of Elders when looking over the second set of images.

Well... I figured out why that structure looks so familiar. As Grizzlei guessed, it is most certainly fallen. In fact, it seems to be a set of Fallen cranes erecting some new structure,
