It was down for about five minutes an hour ago. Bungie tweeted about it (both consoles were down simultaneously), but it must not be fixed for Xbox yet...
PS4 is fine.

We were running the raid doing the outbreak prime quest when Squid got booted at Aksis stage 2. We tried to 5 man for a bit and then Chappy got booted.

Many service providers have a status page that you can visit that shows whether service is up or down. It would be great if Bungie had something like this so we don't all have to wonder or try to run around to different social media sites to see what the status of the game servers are? It would have been especially great on Rise of Iron release, as people could have just stopped queueing repeatedly until things were back up and running.
Or possibly a widget inside the companion application?
If there is a regional catch, just make me enter my zip code or something?
