Supercharge Mechanic [Video] *RAID SPOILERS* (Destiny)

by CruelLEGACEY @, Toronto, Saturday, October 15, 2016, 17:38 (3053 days ago)

Came across this video covering the supercharge mechanic during the Aksis boss fight in Wrath of the Machine. Seems to me like something that might be important for the heroic mode, or possibly challenge mode (if there is one).

Either way, worth a watch if you're into understanding all the subtle mechanics of the raid:

We've gotten pretty good at Supercharging, but it is a pinch risky (if you don't have people ready to supercharge at each teleport, you might end up without any Supers on third teleport). Cody and I have it down 100% though, so we might be able to be on top of it for Hard Mode.

Also, I would assume that for Challenge Mode, Supercharging may be mandatory.

Cool.

I had no idea about this; total news to me. Cool to see!

Heh - the idea of actually IMPLEMENTING it is a little funny. We have enough trouble with the stuff we're already doing - adding another (time-critical, and order-critical) piece to the puzzle is gonna make a MESS. :) )

You ain't kidding. We're hesitant to discuss it when we have new folks in the group, since it's an added layer of complexity to an already-busy fight. Once you're actually doing it, it's far simpler than it sounds (for example, if Aksis goes Right, the Supercharge will either be in Left or Middle platform, and the runners have a few seconds to hit it) , but for the most part, simply getting the left/right/back thing down is as complicated as you want it to be for most groups, especially since Left and Right already have double duty as it is.

Definitely a game-changer in terms of DPS, though.

Cool.

Same here. The first week I went in to help some people and was doing it in secret. I would occasionally just let them know their supers were up, and not to worry about why ^_^

The hardest part in my experience is getting a group to unlearn that you need all three places covered at all times.

Now I finally understand your oblique reference to something in the room that could help the underleveled. I assumed it was the shock rifles, but that seemed an overstatement.

Yeap.

I do it on my own if available, but have never discussed it at all with a group. Nobody's even mentioned it. Too complicated anyway.
