I would just be happy if they made it so if you infuse an exotic with another exotic it doesn't cost an exotic shard.

My Jade Rabbit is stuck at ~330 because of this and I only got there by infusing it with a Year One Monte Carlo. My only options to infuse are Gjallarhorn and the ROI sword, and those aren't being dismantled any day soon.

Horn Relays from Sparrow Racing League are no longer used to upgrade Rare Quality Horns. These items can be discarded. All players will receive 15 Silver Dust as compensation for this change to Horn Relays

Several items from 2015 events have been removed. Paper Glue from Festival of the Lost 2015 now shards into 1 Silver Dust

Since we don't know anything more yet, I realise I'm definitely being a big cynic. But that looks to me like we can expect even more Silver dust-related shenanigans in SRL and FotL. Huzzah ;_;

I assume this means that the trip there won't be lonely... I doubt they're extending the closed door areas, but it'll be nice to not have to be in a fireteam prior to dropping in.

That's a good idea, I just... ummm... I've never gone on a raid before. Xur never seems to sell Exotic guns when I catch him and certainly never ones I'm willing to part with. Thank you for the recommendation in any case!

equip the new truth
use 6 motes of light to fully level it
disassemble the new truth and gain 2 exotic shards.

repeat as desired.

IIRC it's 2500 glimmer and 1 exotic shard to do this. If you need that first shard, run strikes with 3 of coins equipped until you get a drop for one.

I do this periodically and it makes me mad -- I've probably spent 10 exotic shards obtained this way since RoI on light upgrades for exotic on exotic infusion. I think they need to change the economy a little on this one.

You can buy any Exotic, or Exotic Engram in order to get Exotic Fragments.

Kind of expensive at 13 Coins (minimum) per fragment, but it's an option.

use a heavy telemetry.
equip the new truth
use 6 motes of light to fully level it
disassemble the new truth and gain 2 exotic shards.

repeat as desired.

IIRC it's 2500 glimmer and 1 exotic shard to do this. If you need that first shard, run strikes with 3 of coins equipped until you get a drop for one.

I do this periodically and it makes me mad -- I've probably spent 10 exotic shards obtained this way since RoI on light upgrades for exotic on exotic infusion. I think they need to change the economy a little on this one.

You can use a class item with the rocket launcher bonus instead of a telemetry.

If you've got one shard and some extra glimmer, you can get extra shards from the exotic weapon kiosk.

1) Burn a heavy weapon telemetry (available from the Gunsmith, if needed).

2) Buy a Y2 rocket launcher from the vault (Iron Gjallarhorn does NOT work for some reason, but Dragon's Breath does), and equip it.

3) Burn 6-7 motes of light to unlock all of the upgrade nodes. You don't need to actually purchase any of the upgrades, though.

4) Shard the upgraded rocket launcher to receive 2 exotic shards and 2-3 motes of light.

5) Repeat as necessary.

The whole process costs about 2500 glimmer and 4 or 5 motes of light per exotic shard.

Side note: Every single time I tried to type "shard" I accidentally typed "shart" and had to correct it. I don't know what an exotic shart is, but now I'm really curious.

I remember reading that this was a thing on that first weekend, but never seeing any proof. I've definitely never got any, so always assumed the original reports were a troll or bug.

Well, I'm happy with it being an official thing now anyway.

There's also, um... a way to get MORE exotic shards, provided you have 1 to start with. Just costs some glimmer and motes.

FWIW, you don't have to use Truth specifically. Any exotic heavy does the same thing.

If you left the tower with candy in your inventory, it would turn rotten. If you had more than one candy in a stack and used it, it would consume all in the stack. But as long as you kept the candy in your vault at all times, and only ever took one piece out at a time to use (using an item manager), you could hang onto the candy until today.

It was pretty useful since one of the candies was a primary, secondary AND heavy telemetry.

I got extra clusters from bosses on my fourth raid in week two, but none since. I'm glad it's fixed, because it gives me more reason to raid more than 3 times a week.

Really glad I bought around 200 exotic shards from Xur when he'd sell them for coins. I'm down to about 80 now.

That sounds about right for my math as well. I think I had around 110-120 when TTK dropped and finally hit <10 around a month before RoI. It was great not having to worry about upgrading stuff during TTK. Now it's just a pain.

You only had to use legendary marks if you wanted to purchase a Y2 exotic that you already owned the Y1 version of. Once you get your hands on the Y2 version, the price of that item from the exotic kiosk swaps from 150 Legendary marks to 1 exotic shard and 2500 glimmer.

The shard duplicating trick has been in the game as long as the kiosk itself, as far as I'm aware.

Granted, I don't know why such a thing was only mentioned in the official patch notes (as far as I know), but it's there, and it was there in the mere few minute gap there was between it being posted and my eyes gazeing upon its bounty of information. It even has a yellow link that points to the recent Thup-ish-date, which inadvertently points out the perticuler line of text.

All changes to increase Light above 385 will take effect upon the release of Heroic Mode for Wrath of the Machine

You were never going to get Light increases pre-patch. We all hoped you could get them on patch release, but it turns out we still have to wait.

I did do it one by one. I just figured I was having crappy RNG luck, as I often do, or that perhaps the engrams were hitting the previous 385 limit because that's when I'd earned them.

No big deal. I'm not going to be loosing sleep over it. Just another example of how the "levelling up meta game" and I don't get along :)

I wonder if this is their band-aid fix to being able to dismantle infinite Gjaller Horns to get Horn Relays to make your temp SRL horns permanent? Also, WOOT my stockpile of Horn Relays (thanks to the above exploit) is now worth a fortune in silver dust!

I've been flush with glimmer and Motes for forever now. Great use of them, frankly.

The horn relays are 15 dust flat. Regardless of volume possessed.

I logged in right after the patch dropped (10 AM PDT) and blues decoded at 365, purples at +1/2 over light level, which for me has been between 372-378, where before they were always 365.
