Changes to Eververse (More Money Grabbing?) (Destiny)

Eververse is now selling old emotes on a weekly RNG basis for their original silver amounts (200/500). While this IS a step in the right direction for allowing us to buy what we'd like instead of relying on RNG, they just made completing collections more expensive.

What I used to be able to do was to purchase all of the blue (200 Silver) emotes and then wait until the next DLC/Update for them to put all of the old emotes in a 200 Silver mystery box. The mystery boxes were still RNG based, but you'd always get a new emote from that pool of emotes and once you had everything, they were no longer available for purchase. So essentially I could purchase all of the blues for 200 silver each and then get the 500 silver legendary emotes for 200 silver through the boxes. That was a win-win situation that they've now eliminated.

Anyway, just thought everyone should here about the change they made.

Sounds like it was a win-lose situation from their standpoint -- you're getting 500 silver items for 200 silver, likely unintentionally.

Not saying I love the change, but I understand it. I don't think it's an overreach in the sense that it was always intended to be that much. So congrats for getting a discount while you could. =)

The way I look at it, Bungie now sells old content (Original game + DLC for instance) for a reduced amount of money. I was able to get a discount on old content via strategic planning since they made you use RNG for real world money for old stuff. I called that a win-win as in they get money for old content that I normally wouldn't purchase since the emotes were not a must have.

Now they just upped the price for old content by taking away the option to get items via RNG.

I actually prefer this to RNG boxes

Yes, more expensive in that scenario, but as others have said that was probably how it was intebded to be. Cosmetics are partially tuned to take advantage of collectors anyway.

Which is still super shitty and I hate it, just to be clear.

But if this way sees fewer people getting screwed overall, I'm for it.
