It's a shame, because grind *can* be fun (Destiny)

You can absolutely have grind that's still fun. Or at least varied enough that it doesnt wear on you. Destiny just isn't trying very hard.

And a lot of the "un-funness" of it is mitigated by its social nature. Playing w/ friends makes it more fun, but when you're behind that becomes less of an option. Sure your buddies may play lower level content with you, but if they do they're "wasting their time" because they're not getting the higher level drops they need.
