So I finally find some LFG jerks on the B.net to carry me from Step 3 all the way to 8 for the Outbreak Prime. Then Friday, Blackstar and I come across the Blue Man Group and mime our way through Aksis--miraculously. It's 2:30 and I decide to come back to the final puzzle later and do it myself. So last night I start the code process and with just my wits and occasional fact-checking with a calculator, I formulate the final solution in only 5 minutes! I press A to finish my puzzle, and nothing. After double checking my numbers and finding the answer still correct, I search online. Turns out you have to do the last part as a group, too.
Seriously, Bungie? Like...I get the Strikes step, the Wrath of the Machines bit, but... seriously? The mixed bag of insanity out there(and all those *shudder* KIDS) in the wild and you expect them to do math...as a group?!
Good lord...

I'm on the same step with my warlock. Waiting for Crow to kill 3 bosses to catch up on his titan. I also found it "amusing".

While your annoyance is entirely justified, I'd like to point out you can use people who have already done it before to help you now. Set up a FTB and you should be done with by the end of the week. :)

Hats off to you for figuring out the puzzle yourself.
You need to get the other classes in the party with you to pick up the Siva engine they need from Shiro. All three of you need to have it open and solved.
Here's a handy calculator so you don't have to figure it out a second time.
I really liked the math part of the quest. It was different and fun.
