Raid Clinic: Relic Mastery (both platforms) (Fireteam Builder Events)
by Kermit , Raleigh, NC, Monday, May 01, 2017, 11:46 (2763 days ago)
There are key raid positions that some of us are uncomfortable taking during a raid. I confess that I AM ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. We seldom get to practice in a low-pressure environment. The idea of raid clinics is to provide that environment, and also provide guidance from a skilled player, which this week CruelLEGACEY (on the PS4) and Speedracer (on the Xbox).
This week's focus is on relic holding in Vault of Glass. We'll try to have checkpoints ready, but if not we'll just speed thru on normal mode. We'll make every effort to give everyone who signs up a chance to practice, maybe even with different characters.
Sign up here.
Thanks for your interest, and happy raiding.

Would we be going for the challenge? I've been off Destiny for a while but I have a desire for an adept VoC and I hear the time is right for that.

No, this is just practice.

Speaking of—if this is going to be a practice, shouldn't it be done on Level 26/30? At least there will be less to deal with.

That's what we did last week in the PS4, and if you want to grab some checkpoints at a lower level, that's great. As I stated in another post, I'm not going to have a lot of time to do so this week. On the other hand, since our goal isn't to beat the raid, I won't reject the gift of 390 checkpoints.

I prefer arguing about it and then half the team leaving.

Cool! You're always a good tutor, unoudid. If you want to help with clinics, let me know.

I like the look of this route. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
I tried it tonight

The Right-to-left passage is pretty decent. You get out of the line of fire much quicker.
Left-to-right was slower and didn't seem to give any noticeable benefit. More little rocks and elevation changes to get caught on as well.
Do you have a video of your preferred route?

I'm not as good at it as Cyber, but here's the route he and I both tend to use.
After hearing Cyber's impressions of the route from Reddit, I'm thinking an amalgamation of the two routes may work best.
As you can see in my video, the part of our route that tends to be the most problematic is going from the right pillar, past the Templar, past the fireteam, and around the back pillar. You're exposed to a lot of fire, as well as splash damage. I'm thinking it might work well to use the Reddit route to get from the right side to the left, and then Cyber's route from the left side to right.

I didn't take any clips last night, but the videos I've taken in the past are still available.
Disclaimer: I make a ton of mistakes in both of these videos. For example, the correct way to break out of a detainment bubble is to jump and R2, not flail around with R1.
Also note that it's important for the rest of the team to start and stay behind the back pillars; Otherwise the enemy Harpy/Minotaur AI can behave in a very aggressive manner when the relic holder is blocking the right teleport spot.
Thanks, guys!

Unoudid and I both did this tonight with success. The route in the reddit video worked very well, and overall this is a much faster and easier Templar kill than having two people block teleports with a DPS team on the back right.
Big thanks to Cruel and Cyber for all your help last night!
