The darkness managed to both be confusing and a hamfisted metaphor. Destiny would be better off if they just retconned it out of the universe and moved on to more interesting stories.
A atory about a sudden loss of power and how we react to it is far more compelling, and human story than sci fi mystery macguffin #7.
