Starside Lounge (Destiny)

Fantastic job, guys. There are more regular Destiny podcasts, but I invariably find someone on them irritating or ill-informed or straining to be funny (when they're not). You all were ace!

I learned things I didn't know--especially from Xenos--and the discussion was expertly facilitated by Beorn.

Funny story: on my first listen I fell asleep (that's not a knock--it was very late), but I woke up to "shout-out to Kermit." About Astros--the main reason I abandoned them was, after having one problem after another, they fell apart. Rather than spend that kind of money on a new set I decided to go for something I'd always wanted anyway for music: high-end headphones, and began seeking ways to use such headphones for gaming. Right now modmic works for the mic (although I need to summon the courage to superglue the magnetic clip to my headphones--the standard adhesive wears out). I used a gen 2 mixamp (and a headphone amp) to get everything to working. You can't buy the gen 2 mixamps from Astros anymore (I bought a replacement from eBay for cheap not long ago), and I'm hoping by the time this one dies there'll be another piece of kit that does the same thing and is platform agnostic.

Yes, I also went w/ the ModMic (as I had a set of headphones I really like). I've been pretty happy with them, thanks for saying they're alright Kermit.

The only downside is you have twice the cord to deal with, but they're strapped together so it's no biggie. (I do wish the mute switch was lower on the cord, so you could see it w/o taking the headphones off).

We are definitely planning on doing them more often, at least while we have stuff to talk about. Expect one during or right after the beta next month.

Finally finished - thanks for the info and discussion!

And to Raga... I'm looking forward to the next installments of bite-sized backstory. Tell me about the Fallen!
