Lost Sector non repeatability (Destiny)

I hear some people are disappointed that lost sectors in Des2ny won't be repeatable / grindable. In other words, their loot tables don't reset. Well, not me. This is fantastic news.
What I do hope though, is that the lost sectors provide a nice range of difficulty, perhaps with several being even harder or more challenging than the raid. This would of course be fine since you don't have to do it every week. I'm thinking things like the Deep Sea Research lab in FF8.
To me, it sounds like a step in the right direction if implemented properly. If all they are is additional story missions more or less, than it's a wasted opportunity.
How many people can do them? Do we know if we are limited to 3 in patrol like Destiny? Or could you potentially do one with 4-6?

I like the idea of mini-raids for fireteams of up to 3 that aren't quite as hard as raids.

Did Bungie talk about what Lost Sectors are somewhere?

That doesn't make it sound like anything super deep or special. I keep thinking about the big guy you kill for the emblem in The Taken King. You had to hit the two consoles in the Cabal ship to open up the secret door. Hopefully a bit more than that, but it doesn't sound like they'll be long or complex from that one quote.

Lost Sectors are really about, you know there's a lot of them at each destination, so it's about exploring the destination and finding those spaces and then, you know, helping your friends find them as well because you can take your friends who maybe haven't found some of them and show them where some of those are.
That makes me think of exactly the same encounter. Which is cool. I'd love to have a bunch of those types of things littered about. The Dreadnaught was really cool, but at the end of the day there really weren't that many secret things to find. I'd love to see that taken further at all the locations.

And is this a context of loot is non-repeatable, or are the encounters non-repeatable? Can I not show one off to a friend just getting into the game because I've already completed it?
I know you hate the idea of games that don't end in some fashion or another, but I haven't seen these details. The closest I've heard was Adventures being one-and-done, but even that sounded like they were looking into making them repeatable.

Just loot is what it sounds like people on reddit are bitching about, but I can't find a source for it. The quote I posted above indicates that you can repeat them and specifically calls out showing them to friends once you've found them--no mention of loot tables or anything thing.

I am relieved by that quote. I have a lot of friends who don't play for any reason but the hang-out-and-do-neat-things aspect and I am glad it sounds like that is still there.

I am not entirely sure, but I was intrigued by the reaction and chatter on Reddit. I was hoping there would be more to go on. I guess we just have to wait.
Of course you can do them again (you can replay story missions after all) but repeatable in this context would probably be better said as 'grindable'.

Okay. So details unconfirmed at this time, but replayable by the sound of it?
I personally don't replay most content specifically to pursue loot. So I suppose it won't really bother me if that is how they work out.

Your lack of ever providing a single bit of source for your claims aside, I always took Lost Sectors to be an evolution of the current exotic quests mixed with Horizon Zero Dawn's Cauldrons. Of course the ultimate reward wouldn't be grindable.
Rather than RNG, you are provided with a difficult challenge that has a guaranteed reward at the end. I mean, you don't get Black Spindles every time you run that Lost To Light mission (though a cosmetic drop is tied to RNG), so there is an obvious precedence.
Also, I hope that the Lost Sectors are incredibly difficult (give me one that is 90% platforming!), so that you can have great memories with the teams that you run them with...
I also wouldn't mind Bungie doing a collaboration with Guerilla for a Lost Sector with HZD-inspired PS4-exclusive loot. :P
