The first thing I noticed...

There are 3 torches for Hunter, Titan and Warlock...then slightly beside them is a 4th torch. Whats that?

The three-segmented circle is getting used everywhere to represnt the three classes together, instead of the shield with the "extra quad." Although I had originally thought perhaps it was a symbol of The City itself.

I know someone says this every bungie day, but I'm disappointed. I like when bungie day festivities find their way into the game world somehow. I know Destiny 1 is old and busted, but I'd still be happy to see something as simple as an emblem for logging in on bungie day.

And I always feel it's sort of disappointing the way the people who've been Bungie fans from way back get nothing special -- just the same chance to not be superhumanly fast enough with the copy & paste beta code out of some dude's Twitch stream as everyone else. I want a Marathon-related Destiny emblem!

You realize it's literally not the same company anymore? For everyone there but Jason Jones, I and many others have been a fan since before they were even hired.

Yeah, I suppose I do realize that, and I know first-hand how hard it is to keep institutional memories alive when there's been so much turnover. Still, though. It's one day a year for fans; give some love to the old ones, the deep ones, the ones posting at places like DBO and not, I don't know, streaming on Twitch? I don't know. I'm old, I'm crabby; get off my lawn.

There is the slight problem of all the new hires… the Grizzled Ancient team would be super small! Even in the late 2000s it was tough, as a really large portion of the studio had less than 5 years there. I believe it was then when they scraped the division by seniority.

Hmm. I was going from memory since I didn't have my notes, but after looking them over there was definitely a change in the definitions of each of the groups, for instance, shortening the amount of time before you move up.

So yeah, correction there.

They absolutely do, they just don't always publicly talk about it (it is an internal event after all). I saw some Bungie employees discussing their shirts for their team within the last year.

Mine's still Soffish. Anecdotal internet evidence seems to suggest that was from Bungie Day '07 as well, though I had completely forgotten the source until you made this post.

That probably means I haven't changed my 360 gamerpic in about 10 years - it's unlikely that I would have bothered to change it unless some shiny new thing had JUST become available. Holy crap is that a weird thing to think about. I mean, 10 years gone by.
