  • Both teams start with point A/C already captured.
  • No more "neutralizing" phase when capturing a point
  • Having more people in the point no longer speeds up point capturing
  • Scoring has been changed:
  • Kills/captures = 1 Point
  • Kills with 2 zones capped = 2 points
  • Kills with all zones capped = 3 points

There's some fun video in there of the new map, voidwalker and cap'n void too.

Good changes I think.

But, I'd rather they design the maps and spawn points so that A and C are not freebies, and ALL of the points are hard to defend and contentious.

All of the points WILL BE in contention... All this changes is that A and C start out with one team (which is no different really since 110% of the time, each team starts out by getting A and C respectively) so that you can run straight into the action and immediately start contesting any point.

On most maps in Destiny, B is the only point that is really up for grabs. A and C are near the spawn points and well defended for the most part. Sure you CAN take them, but having A+B or C+B is generally better.

What I meant was that I'd like to see B not be the main focus and center of the action…

Shores of Time is kinda like that. C and B see most of the action, unless your team is stupid and caps A.

10 seconds to capture.

No change there from D1, in case anyone was wondering.

The new system is interesting in that once a zone has been capped, it's always capped, even if team ownership changes. D1's Control often had Neutralized points which I'm not saying is bad but is quite a different game mechanic.

Changes to "Control" in D2

[*]Both teams start with point A/C already captured.

Good change. This gets rid of the "middleman" of teams capturing the first point and just delaying the start of the game by 10 seconds.

[*]No more "neutralizing" phase when capturing a point

indifferent. It does streamline it, will be interesting to see if it starts "cap laps".

[*]Having more people in the point no longer speeds up point capturing

Not sure about this one. Makes it easier to play with randos for sure, and be a power-obj player.

[*]Scoring has been changed:
[*]Kills/captures = 1 Point
[*]Kills with 2 zones capped = 2 points
[*]Kills with all zones capped = 3 points

Looks like they're getting away from the CoD-style scoring?

I was more dubious until I remembered that the teams are 4 player max. It probably is a problem to say you need to risk a team wipe to capture at full speed.

This is objectively better.
