Certainly nailed the 'free throw' part. No one so much as looks his way the whole video.

The only thing that made this thematic is adding Sweet Georgia Brown(or what sounds like a sample) to the audio track. Take that away, it's just repetition. Damn good throwing, but repetition nonetheless.

Not to mention, just thought about it--he could use Sorrow for outtakes(because there is absolutely no doubt in my mind at all that for those 8 or so clips of brilliance, there are dozens more where nothing happened) or the Please emote for suspense.

Hell, even Blowing a Kiss.

Clips were amazing, presentation was just...lazy.

Twelve years later, this song still rings of truth, importance and wisdom.

You should never let people prevent you from doing, being or creating what you want--especially if it's just one person(unless it's illegal or something).

Keeping all that stuff in only hurts yourself. If you believe in what you want to make, gather the initiative to make it happen, and put forth the effort in completing it, the pride of finishing your own project ought to be more than enough accomplishment. Regardless of one negative opinion or a thousand, if you actually worked on it, and you're pleased by the result, that's all that matters!

Which brings me to my larger point. My opinion may be negative(partially, let me repeat those shots were still incredible) but it's just that; an opinion. It's not fact, it's not law, it doesn't even have to be valid. And anything can be done with an opinion. You can respectfully disagree, you can ask why I feel that way, you can take it in a constructive light, you can tell me to fuck off, you can offer advice of your own, ask for help, ignore it, use it for fuel, remove it entirely, let it get to you or even steal it from them.

They don't matter. You do.

Don't get me wrong, there are some people who say the absolute worst shit on the Internet. It's a cesspool out there. But you're not out to please them. You're making your own content and creation, and everybody else out there is lucky enough that you're sharing it with them.

This is my old montage from almost 10 years ago. Look at all those comments. The people freaking HATE IT. But I was never happier and more excited to be putting together a tribute video my own way.

I didn't let any of that get to me. I kept going and improved where I wanted and stayed where I needed, and ended up directing one of the biggest Halo 3 montages in the community.

(Yes, I remember that you don't like this one, but I took your opinion constructively.)

Now, if your post was simply an example, just apply this message to anything else in life that might trigger apprehension or nervousness.

But if you really want to make a montage, you're the only one stopping you.
