I replayed mission 'Outbound Signal' on an alt character (Destiny)

Amongst other ideas, I have been thinking that the color scheme and symbology remind me of Cabal ship/computer control stations around Mars and The Dreadnaught. Rather than slog through the game manually (and with no good form of capture) I turned to the net for some links. I found a great link with a few of these control stations pictured.

I wasn't able to find an exact matched out symbol or symbol set (triangle rounded corners, sphere separately).

The cup/chalice in the Destiny emblem features a ball (or knop) midway up the figure and I was thinking if you drew a triangle under it toward the base/foot of the cup it would fit just about perfectly. Then I looked to the right and noticed in the larger portion of the image a sphere with a triangle underneath it...
Similar? Except the corners are not rounded off

The other day I replayed the mission 'Outbound Signal' on an alt character that I have been finally been leveling up before D2 drops. On board The Dreadnaught, this mission has you fight towards the crashed Cabal ship bridge. (The bridge is in a locked corridor on the way towards where you go to fight the Shield Bros.) I noticed the computers/terminals have large screens above them along this area that feature a very similar seeming symbol to the one in the 'Cabal Empire themed' emblem for D2?
(A sphere with triangle directly underneath it)

The sphere with a triangle symbol appears to be directly attributed to the Cabal Empire during this mission when you "scan it" with your Ghost, and it appears to be featured in the 'Cabal Themed' Emblem slated to be in Destiny 2? Could it directly represent the Cabal Empire, or could it indirectly represent the 'Distress Signal', 'Outbound Message', or 'Signal Received'?
Could Luke's sweater have a stylized version of this symbol on it?

When you turn in this mission to Arach Jalaal he says on the flavor text of the mission completion:

"You've done very well, Guardian. Excellent. This simple act of coordination between the fleet and the Tower is the beginning, I hope, of something greater. Something that may shape us for years to come."
