A couple of fun Beta videos... (Destiny)
The first has some thoughts on the Dawnblade from someone who has mostly run Sunsinger through D1:
Basically, Dawnblade adds a number of things that I would have loved to see on a Sunsinger. Things like Angel of Light being integrated into the Glide gives it a more defined purpose, and gives Warlocks a distinct advantage in certain combat situations. It feels like passive abilities are more pronounced, making each class stand out from the others better, and the way Dawnblade's rift ability makes him a status/healer hybrid is really neat.
Losing Self-Rez isn't so bad when you can periodically cast a rift that keeps you and teammates from dying in the first place. I feel like it's one of those things that will keep Dawnblades essential in raids and such.
Likewise, having the Icarus dash helps make up for the fact that the glide is even slower now, and Focused burst is no longer the mandatory jump style for Warlocks. It's already saved my life a few times, and can be good for navigating.
That said, I'm having some trouble adjusting, as I tend to feather all jumps with an A,L2,A pattern, and L2 no longer breaks the jump. I feel like I really need one of those controllers with the paddles that those darn millenials use these days, because D1 Warlock jumps have become completely second nature to me, and a few hours into the Beta and I'm still making the same mistakes.
Also, No idea why folks say that enemies seem more bullet spongy. Other than the heavy Melee units, most enemies fall to the same number of shots as before with Better Devils... though landing headshots is a little tougher now...
The second clip is from my first match in Crucible, where we Mercy ruled the other team. I got ten kills, zero deaths, and a very happy Shaxx. He sure is chattier than ever:
Love ya, Shaxx!

In generally if you are not landing precision hits, it feels like enemies take more shots. Additionally, as no one has really sorted out where ability damage falls, a lot of melees/grenades don't feel like they deal out enough pain to AI for how infrequently we get to use them.
Though those videos make me infinitely more interested in Dawnblade than I ever was with Sunsinger. It seems however most of the identity of the other available subclasses is tied to active abilities. I guess we'll see how the cooldowns are in the shipping game.
Might have to mute Shaxx :)
I hope that actor gets paid more with each release as it seems he's got to act a significant number of more lines with each one.
I have a vid to share
I had this nice little 4-piece.

Should have been a fiver if I played the last shot smarter.
That being said, the infrequency of getting sniper ammo is definitely gonna change what I enjoy about the game.
That was beautiful

Nice shots! Curse that one that got away.
And I agree, but I think the idea of one or two people on a team being a threat with Special is kind of neat, and you don't have to do as much countersniping as you do in D1. I know when I pick up Heavy in D2 that I'm taking on a powerful role, and that the enemy might pick up on it. It's odd, but there have been times where I've opted not to pick up Heavy, especially when I see a teammate with a sniper running up (I've been running shotgun), guess I just hope that teammates are as good with their shots as you are in that clip, heh. Power weapons are special again!
Beta PvP Striker Titan montage
I cut together a few clips from my time with the Beta on Tuesday. Some fun moments playing with Beorn, Xenos, and Cyber:

Man, that mobile striker... Also, did the fusion rifle charge feel a little faster? It looked really fast on that first shot, but almost normal on the subsequent shots.
Thank you
When I stopped to get the clip I was worried the first shots wouldn't be there. In my mind, that sequence took forever.
It's true
Last night I played a few games with some people and it'll be interesting opting to defer power/heavy ammo to other people. I think this will round out my overall game, getting better with primary shooting, but I kind of miss Y1 Destiny where ammo was simply abundant. :)

In general is your experience that you are better off just trying to get the smashes in? I noticed you weren't using the shoulder charge ability.

Ha, I didn't even know the Striker's super included a shoulder charge ability

R1/RB makes you do a shoulder charge and uses less super energy, but seems to be on a single target.

Looks like it's totally worth using! Now to remember that it's even a thing...

I was REALLY surprised when I got a double-kill on a control point with a charged axion bolt the other night. It's totally worth the additional super charge time to have a grenade that might actually kill someone.

Getting out of the map...
Old news? Probably. But I was exploring with a couple of randos on the strike, when I fell under the map, and using the power of the Warlock, managed to find my way into an oddly finished area. Looks like Warlocks will still be a problem for Bungie in D2! :P
