I want to give the play by play in my head.

• Hears hammers, turns and scopes in with a hope and a prayer
  
• Oh, you dumb ass! Of course he's gonna use his vertical space around the corner. Desperation trigger pull maybe I'll get lucky
  
• I have resigned myself to death, there is only one hope I have. No scope headshot.
  
• OMG! HOORAY!
  
• F*&K! Why did it throw a stinking knife! I was just trying to clean up if I had hit a body shot.
  
• Pause to make original clip.
  
• Jump up, realize that the radar reflects two enemies not one. Start to back away.
  
• Oh crap, my gun has no bullets in it. Throw your knife in their face!
  
• Back up, reload, but crap! They self-rezzed.
  
• Wait for the reload animation to end, chuck grenade against wall and pray teammate doesn't get in the way.
  
• Clean up quickly with gun. Panic mash melee thinking it'll throw a knife since I can't count and I'm incapable of paying attention to the whole UI all the time.

End of story.

I'm comforted by the knowledge that I'm not the only one who inadvertently throws knives or tries to throw one when it's not ready!

For about a week, I've been going into patrol and spending about 15 minutes killing things with only no scopes at different distances. I figured I like sniping so much that I should add that skill to my repertoire. And I have noticed my ability to use it in the Crucible has changed dramatically.

It's not fading, you're just slowly going super saiyan. You'll be over power level 90 in no time! :P

The feedback on kills is so delayed I have just accepted that I need to act as if the headshot will not happen even if it costs me ammo.

I think one of the trophic levels of the video makers is when they just fire and assume they dot the headshot. Then you know they're good.
