Destiny 2 Pre-Orders Surpass Destiny 1's (Destiny)

"With the release of Destiny 2 approaching, Activision noted that the recent console beta attracted more players than Destiny 1's beta. Additionally, pre-orders for the sequel have eclipsed those of the first game, although no specific figures or further comparisons were offered.

This is good news for Bungie, but whenever the real numbers are hidden there is a caveat. :-p

As far as I'm aware pre-order numbers were never officially revealed for Destiny 1, which would make this par for the course. It's actually incredibly common for publishers not to release sales numbers.
