How is this not on the official sound track? (Destiny)

I nominate this as the official titan theme.

This has got to be the best way to start a week.

This immediately reminds me of the classic from so long ago.

Huh.

I'm assuming you're talking about 'Master Race'.

That phrase has been used several dozen times (for all three classes) on this forum alone - and as far as I can tell, you haven't complained once.

But now it bugs you in a parody song?

Okay.

I have used the term in the past… but somewhat recently I've come around and have had some difficulty with it.

Huh.

Interesting. Missed that reply - sorry.

Don't think I agree with your stance, but I'm happy (happier) with the consistency. ;)

..but I think the problem is now is that people are referencing it as if Croshaw's "PC Master Race" was the first instance of it, and wasnt intended to be ironic.

So now it's supposed to be seen as a kind of joking, ironic intolerance, you know, instead of actual, murderous intent intolerance.

Point is taken, though-- and I think it doesn't add anything to the video, other than helping the line scan properly. I imagine a better way could have been found to do that.

Is this phrase used as anything but ironic shaming of those claiming superiority because of a value judgment?

Oh, yes. It's used without irony by PC gaming proponents all the time.

I assumed it was entirely derogatory.

Okay. So what I figured is, when people said that, like Titan Master Race, or PC Master Race, it was actually supposed to be an insult to the person to whom it was said. Like grammar Nazi. I make a lot of inappropriate jokes like this to make fun of people by playing
the sexist/racist/PS4 supporter and saying stupid stuff. I shy away from the Nazi ideology stuff though.

Now, the internet makes much more sense. If people are saying it like "I agree with you also lol Nazis," like I believe Narc is saying, I understand things better. The subreddit makes a bit more sense. I thought it was like "we're absolutely PC assholes and we're going to play it up," but it just seemed like PC gamers.

I also fully and completely believe anything said with irony is repeated without irony by some people; even this kind of stuff.

My theory* is it is

3% Facetious humor
90% Copycats who are unaware of historical source and unironically wish to cheer for their tribal affiliation
6% Ironic and/or mocking use

*words like "theory" and using numbers makes it seem scientific!

It is the overall softening of language when these things become jokes and widely spoken in unrelated contexts. It makes it harder to actually combat this shit.

And believe me, gamergate has proven that gamers need a serious reality check.

I don't really feel like elaborating because that might cross into rule breaking territory, and this thread is about a funny parody video.
