Here's a picture of what the clan rewards will be. No major spoilers, but don't look if you want to be completely dark on this stuff.

Clan rewards

I wonder if the clan rank will be limited to a max value like IB, or infinite like faction reputation (and to what degree higher ranks increase the chance of receiving tokens and/or engrams from end game activities

I'll give it a week.

I may skip Clans

I know Bungie is trying to fix their messed-up exclusive Raid activities but Clans don't have to be the solution. They could have used a MM activity like LFG with reputation stats and other info to support it.
To ensure people join a Clan they've made it seem very rewarding while at the same time kind of punishing people who don't want to join a Clan. That last perk can act as an exclusionary clause. I.E. "We only play with clan members so we can get rewards."
I can't forget how they dropped Clans in Halo when it didn't suit them.
I also don't like the poisonous fiefdoms that spring out of clans.

It could improve overall interactions between players.
It's possible.

May have found a solution.

I made a Clan for myself and a couple of my old Friend of Friends gamertags.
No doubt I'll need to play my extra mini-me a bit. Perhaps I'll be able to qualify for Clan rewards without too much effort. If worse comes to worse, I can always eat crow and add real people.

The benefits are not there for raid level activites

If you look there are no bonuses to Raiding with clan members. Raids already have a defined number of drops, so the increased chances of a drop would do nothing for it.
And then they have the whole "guided games" thing for clans to take non members through the Raids.
It doesn't look nearly as exclusive as WoW (not that I've played WoW in over a decade).
