When EXACTLY does Destiny 2 release? (Destiny)

Do we know when exactly Destiny 2 will be released? Are we talking midnight Pacific Daylight Time? Midnight UTC? Wednesday 10am PDT? Midnight your local time?

I've looked around and haven't found anything more specific than "September 6th".

A guy at Gamestop told me that they no longer have midnight launch parties. They start selling the new title when they "close" at 9 p.m. EDT the night before release day. I don't know if this is true. If it is, I think the thinking is with online requirements and day-one updates the three hours don't really matter.
