Luke on Twitter: Raid is 260-280 (Destiny)

by cheapLEY @, Monday, September 11, 2017, 17:18 (2714 days ago)

Luke's Tweet.

Destiny 2's first Raid has a Power range of 260-280.

So I guess starts at 260, with an ultimate recommendation of 280 for the final boss, like how King's Fall stepped up. That's a pretty decent jump from start to finish, it seems like.

I'm at 268. Would like to get over that 270 hump, but I'm feeling pretty comfortable.

This is wonderful news.

A no grind raid! If Bungie fixes infusion, then I'll be out of things to complain about.

To be fair, he's right.

The only major thing wrong with Destiny 2 is the fact that you can't infuse hunter/warlock/titan armor into each other -- which is especially frustrating because they had it right for the past two years of D1 and there is absolutely no justification for changing it to be this way.

Absolutely no justification? Pff. You try making decent armor out of Saphire Wire or... heh... Hadronic Essence.

There's a hashtag for that.

But it's not just the armor issue. You also must match weapon type while infusing. I just got a 293 sidearm. Too bad I don't like sidearms. Before I could infuse that into something I'd use. Now? I'm out of luck.

You have two options:

1. Git gud. The new system encourages you to experiment with weapons that you otherwise would never use. Who knows, maybe you just haven't found the right sidearm (I hated sidearms until I got the Tresspasser, which I once used almost exclusively on a trip to the Lighthouse.

2. Keep it in your inventory/vault. It is still taken into account when giving you your next drop, so it's one of those things where it doesn't help you directly, but it does improve your drops henceforth.

I'd suggest the former. I picked up an Auto Rifle (Origin Story), and despite being somewhat let down by other ARs in the game, this one is now my primary PvP gun for the foreseeable future, all because I was encouraged to play around with it.

Origin Story is definitely one of my favorites so far. It's not exactly identical, but in actual use it feels very much like the old Shadow Price/Grim Citizen type to me.

Just hit 261 last night. Glad to see I can at least help with the raids now.
