Kind of off-topic, but I still wonder about those mostly-empty chests after each of the Standards encounters… why even bother?

Not off-topic at all I bet. I assume that because it's unclear which event will be "first", all these chests are chained together. So whichever one you open first gives you rewards, the rest just extra glimmer. Someone braver than me can test out skipping the first one and seeing what happens at the second one. ;)

Now, it does seem like lazy programming, but I assume they have their reasons. Probably due to schedule. They should add some blue engrams or an extra shader or something to those to make it feel a little less of a letdown though, IMO.

On the same topic of chests that have nothing. What's the deal with the chest after completing the standard event between the main events? The door opens behind and there is a big ol' chest with nothing in it. At least I've never gotten anything from any of them.
