Max nightfall timer cheese (Destiny)

by Schedonnardus, Texas, Friday, September 22, 2017, 09:41 (2702 days ago)

after the part where you have to defend your ghost and fight all the waves of shanks, there is an anomaly up high. then you go thru a transitional corridor out to exodus black. if you go back thru the loading zone, the anomaly will be there again. Have 1 person stay behind, while the other two continue on the strike.

since the rest of the strike is in a public space, it will not pull the 3rd person forward until they drop down into the boss room. 2 ppl can clear the rest of the strike and then wait before entering the last room while you max out the timer.

Max nightfall timer cheese

Did this last night and still couldn't beat the boss in time. That fight is absurd. Even in non-nightfall strikes it takes 10+ minutes.

Not sure what you're doing wrong. We had two Hunters in our Fireteam, and were still able to get it done with over five minutes on the clock without any cheese. I recommend using swords. The boss can't dodge swords.

We have a movie night tonight, but Sammy and I can help you with it tomorrow if you really need the 5+ minute thing.

Oh I'm all done with the 5 minute thing (did it last week). I just want to beat the nightfall. I appreciate the help - I'll hit you up if we can't get it tonight.

Same cheese, poor results

The time runner barely made 10 seconds each run. It wasn't worth the effort for the most part.

We were either under levelled or failed to understand the boss mechanic at the end.

Terrible waste of time Nightfall. Bad design. Too difficult. I may have to wait 3 months after I grind out to 380 before retrying.

We tried it, but even with two people tag teaming the run it didn't add much. Apparently there is also a max to the number of anomalies you can shoot. Once we hit that limit they quit giving extra time.

didn't realize this. wonder if they were able to stealth patch that?

No, the same thing happens with the post-raid quest strike. You can only hit a certain number of Anomalies before you get a notification that you've hit the max number, and you can't grab any more. It's double annoying since you run out of time boosts right after the toughest room, and you still have a whole 'nother room full of enemies and anomalies.

I doubt that Bungie will patch this, since it doesn't help players much (and indeed, might screw them over since they'll be a man down all the way to the final room).

so, you are keeping the timer from dropping. the dark room before the boss is full of anomalies, so your teamates should be able to add a considerable amount of time to the timer, without sacrificing any time b/c you kept rounding the timer up.
