Really questions though, did you count the little “vendor monologue cutscenes”? There aren’t a ton of them, but they are animated to match what Shaxx or Zavala or whoever is saying. And some are a minute or more long.

They aren’t letterboxed. I’m not counting those. There’s no camerawork or blocking or editing or any kind.

I wouldn't count the ship varients (that would be like counting every variant of your guardian' armour as a cutscene) but there is the unique orbit screen for each planet, plus the crucible map intros.

Counting any of that stuff as cutscenes is pretty disingenuous given the context of what it usually means.

Yeah. My real guess is that they were counting the DLC. For instance, the voice actor for Prince Uldren walked the red carpet and partied with Bungie at the D2 launch party but we haven’t seen or heard from the Prince yet. But it seems almost certain that we will.

That seems plausible. Assuming Cody's count of 39 is correct, I can definitely see getting 11 more out of a pair of expansions.

I'm not hung up about how many cutscenes are in the game, but I would be curious to know what/how they were counting.
