Iron Banana next week, but they only show armor. No weapons? Also doesn't take light level into account.
Prestige raid starts next week too. No light level boost from it.
Explaining "Seasons" in Destiny 2.
by cheapLEY , Thursday, October 05, 2017, 16:17 (2651 days ago) @ bluerunner
Apparently they're doing a thing at Twitchcon on October 20th to explain what season means in the context of Destiny 2.
At this point, I expect to be underwhelmed, but I do hope it's something neat and more than, "we reset your clan progress so you can grind it out again with slightly different modifiers unlocked for each rank."
Also, regarding the Prestige Raid:
Mechanical changes to the encounters are minimal, but they are there.
Prepared to be underwhelmed.

Expecting there will be some mostly cosmetic items to commemorate seasons (Emblems most likely, Ghost/Sparrow/Ship possibly, class items unlikely) that I will likely not even use.

Watch Tess sell 'season tickets' which get you bonuses.
Iron Banner Hunter Cloak

That would look fabulous glammed up with a shiny plastic-y look using the Arctic Pearl shader. I need its fuzzy goodness.
Help I've somehow fallen into an alternate world
by Durandal, Friday, October 06, 2017, 07:48 (2650 days ago) @ bluerunner
Somehow the THAB has torn a hole in spacetime and deposited me in an alternate universe called reddit.
Here Bungie is a cruel taskmaster, forcing players to mine coins in repetitive exercises in exchange for slightly different skins. Apparently there isn't enough options for these alternate activities, just as Deej planned, and now everyone is quitting en mass from Destiny and going to games that have much more content and are not repetitive at all like Overwatch.
In addition, Bungie has announced that the endgame will change to some sort of friendship simulator called the "friendgame", where you will be forced to play with strangers and bond over some sort of shared interest. I'm not sure what common thing we could talk about, people are so different on the internet. I can't think of even a single thing we would have in common.
Please send a rescue party, or at least a sherpa so I can finally beat Calus.
Love this post, hate reddit

Because it's reddit, why wouldn't they be?
by cheapLEY , Friday, October 06, 2017, 21:20 (2650 days ago) @ Funkmon
The spent three years bitching about the grind, and now that the grind is gone, they're bitching about how casual the game is and that they don't have anything to chase after the 200 hours they've already played.
No but I mean what is the friend thing about? I don't get it

Friends are people who like to be around you...
by Korny , Dalton, Ga. US. Earth, Sol System, Saturday, October 07, 2017, 06:50 (2649 days ago) @ Funkmon
Foreign concept, I know. :v
It's probably a reference to the fact that for years (and despite the fact that Destiny is considered a "social shooter"), people have endlessly complained that they have to play with other people in Destiny. The biggest complaint is "I don't have five other friends, so I can't raid!" followed by "why no matchmaking for Nightfall!?". But I mean, they're on a subreddit full of people who also have the same problem, as if they couldn't send each other a friend request or something.

That was my issue with Destiny’s raids as well. Out of choice. I didn’t want to put in the meager effort to gather an enjoyable and cohesive party to raid with for hours on end. I could’ve asked y’all on DBO or friends elsewhere. That’s all on me so I refuse to whine about it ad nauseum. Like, that’s all there is to it. They just love to bitch and moan.

The irony is, that the campaign, which can be played alone, is way better than it was in Destiny. Des2ny offers even better options for solo players!
Oh. Not sure about that.

Probably just that they treat the game like a job rather than as a fun hobby with friends.
It's a stupid response to DeeJ's story from the TWAB
by Xenos , Shores of Time, Saturday, October 07, 2017, 07:27 (2649 days ago) @ Funkmon
It's reference to DeeJ's ending note on the last TWAB:
On a personal note; just the other night, after we caught up in the Crucible, I had dinner with a dude I met as my teammate in a Bungie game eleven years ago. I am a product of the Bungie community. My challenge to every Guardian is to look to the human element in Destiny 2 to fuel your appetite for ultimate re-playability. The ultimate loot is the friendships that can grow out of a game like this. There will be more gear to add to your character (next week, even). The rewards that I'm talking about are the people in the community that thrives in this game. If you let them, they'll make your hobby as a light-dealing hero on a starside campaign for glory even better.
People actually thought that this was Bungie's response to them complaining about the current end-game in D2 and trashed on DeeJ and Bungie as a whole for what was actually just a nice story DeeJ had about making friends in Bungie games.
