It's possible that you'd forgotten we have a Fan Fiction section - it's seen 4 updates in the past 2 years, with the last one almost 4 months ago. HWPD hasn't forgotten, though, and if you swing by, there are two unannounced installments of his "House of Mist" story. Go read 'em!

Yeah, that made me a little sad. We had a good number of great stories early on and the Destiny universe is an even better place for stories than it was then. So I’m gonna make sure the Fan Fiction section is not neglected. My own stories will certainly be going up there, and maybe I’ll find some way to encourage some of you to join back in.

For this story, The Red War, I had been moved by what our Ghost says on scanning that one object in the new tower. That everyone had lost somebody. I knew immediately that I wanted to move my characters forward and bring each of their stories up to the present day / Post Red War time period.

I also knew that several of my older stories were written a long time ago have needed fixing. A few were written back before we even knew about Ghosts and some before we had a full understanding that each Guardian had been brought back to life by the Traveler’s Light. So, in the coming days I’m going to be submitting updates to all the stories I referenced to in The Red War. Specifically:

For No Longer Afraid, I want to go back and have two gunshots reported at the end. I’ll also look to make sure any of Jenn’s flashbacks match up to this latest version of her encounter with the Fallen Captain. Notably, her defining scar will not be present in the updated story since our Ghosts can heal us completely or rebuild us even after we’ve been disintegrated by heavy weapons.

For Little Lights in the Darkness, Part One, I’ll change it so that Roy doesn’t just choke Natela after getting the better of her. He will actually use his length of pipe and only then, after her body goes limp, will her Ghost find her. She’ll also not use her Arc based powers to open the door to the shop. As of right now, we don’t know of any Guardians who did not die first, so Natela’s story will be made consistent with our current understanding of Guardians and their Ghosts.

For The Legend, Part One, Tesni’s backstory will be changed to fit with the updated version in The Red War. Notably, this means she won’t wake up on the beach unaware of who she is or what is happening. Rather, she will awake wearing pristine armor that she has not seen in decades and will quickly come to understand that her death at sea 500 years before was not permanent the way she thought it was. Instead, it just took her Ghost a long time to track her down again. Most of her emotions stay the same, just the exact circumstances change.

Following all that, I have some ideas for happier stories in mind, and hopefully Curse of Osiris will provide new story avenues to persue. Maybe, with any luck, some of you guys will join me. :)
