Are Fated Engrams bugged? (Destiny)
In a way I've mentioned this earlier in the week, but now it's getting to the point where the odds of the ridiculousness I've seen are looking... rather odd.
I'm fairly certain I can say without fail, that every exotic I've gotten this week, be they from an exotic or powerful engram have been "Vesper of Radius". I haven't been keeping score here, but if I had to ball park it I must have received a 6th or 7th IN A ROW of this exotic just now.
Wondering if I'm alone in this oddity.
Edit: And no sooner do I post this, I redeem a powerful engram and get a Ophidian Aspect. I'm ON TO YOU BUNGIE! I'm keeping this post here anyway, as I still have received and absurdly large number of the same exotic in a row, and I'm wondering if anyone else here has noticed the same.
According to the Bungie Help twitter they are investigating:
We are investigating reports that some players have received duplicate Exotic rewards from Fated Engrams. More information will be provided once available.
That was posted on the 18th.

Seriously. Everything in Destiny needs these five lines of pseudocode. Probably a real coder to be even more efficient with it and do it in just three lines, and maybe put an error checker in there so if you get the same result 100 times in a row, fine, use that result.
Anyway, my point is that, for a game which prides itself on variety of activities, the number of times I've done the same strike two or three times in a row, or fought pvp on the same map (while in the same lobby) two, three, four, even *five* times in a row, or gotten the exact same drop from an engram several times in a row, well, it's all really really really really really too many times.
Point of fact: Most people who claim to want "random" things actually want "varied" things. True randomness is not as fun as variety.

Got several duplicates on my Titan as well but wasn't keeping track.
Also, was talking to a friend about how the fated engram gave him a jade rabbit, then proceeded to get a jade rabbit from mine. A third person in our party then also got a jade rabbit from hers.
Sometimes I feel like the RNG gets stuck on a specific subset. This week it's all arms, next it's all pulse rifles.
Once I had two exotic drops from Banshee in a row, and both were the exact same exotic.

Of the two Fated Engrams I’ve purchased so far, I’ve received two Exotics that I did not yet have. So far so good. I certainly woudn’t mind if that’s how Exotics worked all the time though. Always has felt pretty odd and sometimes even crappy to keep getting things you already have.

Two for me, Two for Sammy. No dupes for either one of us.
All things considered, it's a fairly cheap purchase. Nowhere near as costly as D1's Legacy engrams, so even a dupe, while disappointing, wouldn't be so terrible...

I've only purchased two. The first was The Colony, which was great because I didn't have it yet. This last weekend's was another Colony. I think the only exotic weapon I don't have on Xbox is Graviton Lance, and I do have all of the Warlock armor, so maybe that's the reason for the duplicate.
