This might be one of those moments where I missed something obvious to others, but you get faction tokens in PvP. I never noticed before because you get get so much crap, like 4 blues and other stuff, that you can’t see everything as it pops up. Tokens are pushed off I guess.
So color me surprised when I have 250 Dead Orbit tokens in my inventory with no idea how I got them.

You do, but I didn't think it was that many. I thought it was like five for a win and two or three for a loss.

You seem to get bonuses randomly… I just got 30 after a match and I'm not sure why.

This happens sometimes in the lost sectors, too. For a while I thought it was due to completing an active challenge (one for doing a certain lost sector, specifically), but that doesn't always seem to be the case.

The daily faction challenge was to play 5 games.

Crossing Glory/Valor levels nets you a ton of tokens.
