I like the Solstice of Heroes. (Destiny)
I don't really have much to say, I just think the event is cool. I see tons of folks on reddit bitching about the grind (because they've not fully Masterworked their sets after a mere 24 hours into a month long event, undoubtedly). I'm usually in that camp, honestly, but I have a hard time seeing it this time. If you do the milestones every week, it seems like you'll basically be done, or at least pretty close to it. Mayhem next week makes the Crucible ones trivial.
The gear is all neat, the Triumphs are cool. I always like playing Destiny, and I've moved beyond chasing stuff for the most part, but it is neat to feel like I'm working towards something again. The missions are fun to run with a Fireteam. Honestly wish they still triggered the cutscenes, though--I'd like to see them with the armor set!
I think Bungie really hit a cool balance for this--the reward is nice looking armor that will be a useless trophy in five weeks. It's neat to have, but no one is getting left out from some crazy exclusive stuff if they don't participate. This is the sort of stuff I really enjoy seeing--it's like a "best of" tour of the stuff you can do in Destiny, and it's been a hot minute since I've seen so many folks online and playing Destiny, which is always cool.

Agreed.
I liked going back to the City before the attack. The five redone missions each got really cool upgrades. I loved Spark's boss. It doesn't feel like another endless record book for which I'm very thankful. And, the Crucible stuff hasn't been that bad. I thought the Super kills would take forever but it was really just about two hours of play, so that was good.

I’m enjoying it too. I played through the white armour and blue armour versions of each mission last night (nothing changes except for the difficulty, far as I can tell). I did them all solo, and I was getting serious “Halo Legendary” vibes, especially during the Blue armour runs. Some of the new enemy placements are truly devious, in classic Bungie fashion. There were several times when I had to construct an entire plan for how to deal with a single enemy.
I’m also enjoying the complete lack of dialogue in the Redux missions. The exposition isn’t needed at this point, and the tone of the game shifts in a way that I like.

+1. That ceiling fan in the Last City, though.

Agreed.
Asteroiks* Prime is definitely the highlight of this event for me so far. It was, for me, so unexpected when I got to that fight. I was a little underwhelmed by the final encounters in most of the other missions.
Here is to hoping more Redux missions putting interesting encounters in spaces which might not have been used for them previously, perhaps as Daily Heroics??? Bungie???

LOL. I wonder if some folks are assuming it's 1 week, since that's pretty typical for Destiny events.

Yeah, none of it seems that arduous, at least for people who play all game modes. Some of us don,t and consequently won't be participating in the armor part (not going to re-hash that here), but even for us there are things to get. I'm hoping that I manage to pull that Sturm ornament somehow.

Heh, I like that part for sure. I'm not necessarily interested in changing my characters' looks at this point, so I'm not concerned about not having the armor at all. Getting a jump on my light level would be OK, but I'll get there eventually, so meh.

Hah! I didn't even think about that!

I blame Dave Candland; for leaving.
But hey, maybe when Bungie gets to 900 employees, things like this will get fixed before shipping.
What's really funny, I was just talking about 'ceilings' in Destiny with Morningstar just the other day...

The tower looks amazing, but does anyone else feel like they’re trapped in a bottle of Goldslick?
