Help for a long term lurker (Destiny)
By way of introduction I have been dropping by for a long time. Not just here, all bungie.org sites since Myth days. I’ve always enjoyed the community and obviously Bungie games. As a solo player I haven’t really had anything to contribute but I have certainly been able to take a lot from the forums and sites.
Somehow Solstice of Hereos has grabbed me. I have played Destiny crucible for the first time after goodness knows how many hours soloing PVE. Got my wins, kills everything, I needed. Actually had fun in Mayhem which was a surprise (controller on PC doesn’t help, but that’s my choice).
Anyway, to cut to the chase, about all I have left for Armor upgrade and MOT shirt is the nightfall (I have a young family so am not thinking raids). I feel like I am missing something obvious but I can’t work out LFG in the companion app (As a PC player with no mic). I’ve added myself to fire teams, had them closed with me as a member and awaited confirmation from the lead but nothing ever happens. No messages etc. I’ve looked for online guides to work out what I’m doing wrong without luck.
I thought about joining the DBO PC clan but I probably wouldn’t be around too much (and am in Australia anyway so timing isn’t great).
Sorry that my first post isn’t making a more positive contribution to the community after all this time, but any advice/tips would be appreciated. I will try creating one as a solo and see if I get any bites. Thanks.

If this is in regard to the Rare to Legendary step, there are definitely some folk here on PC who would probably help. If you make a FTB event and I'm not otherwise occupied I'll usually try to get myself involved, though PC ones are generally infrequent.
The Nightfall is much lower stress when you aren't trying to hit that point threshold.

Thanks, that’s the one. Just a regular completion. I’ll find a time that I know I’ll be able to manage things and go from there.
Sorry for the basic question, but if people sign up here do I just add them to my friends list on battle.net and then I can setup the fire team in game? I haven’t ever setup a nightfall and have no idea how it works.

Pretty much, yeah. That's how I've seen it in the past.
What is the power level on Nightfall?
I haven't played on PC in awhile, my guardian is only at 341 Power. I've been doing my Moments of Triumph on Xbox. I might be able to help, but I'm not 100% certain.
Prestige is 360 (plus whatever handicap you add).

Probably not gonna be able to help at 341, unfortunately. :( (To ensure hitting the bonus threshold, you need a handicap of around 25 - meaning you want characters at 385 or above. You can hit it with a smaller handicap, but then you need to up the OTHER modifiers you're adding, and that makes it as hard or harder.)

I (lvl at 350 or so) did it last night with some folks and while I sure was dying more then them, I don't think I was a total anchor.

You weren't.
Within 10 power levels, I'd say it's exactly as you describe - you will probably die more than you would at the recommended level, but it's generally doable. If you're 349 or below, I think you'll have a pretty tough time and will mostly need to be carried by the other 2 players (which might be fine, if they're skilled and patient). Although it's worth noting that the Nightfall this week is A Garden World, which I personally think can be one of the toughest boss fights out of any of the strikes, because of the frequent add spawns, the constantly moving boss and cover, and the strength of the boss' main attack.

Enjoyed the Nightfall, it helps being 80 odd light level over. If anyone on PC needs any numbers to help with any final steps let me know. It may have even convinced to finally try a raid some time.

I will be on a lot this coming week (Friday-Friday) while my girlfriend is out of town. I generally play between 8 - 11 PM Pacific; sometimes I'm on in the morning for about an hour at 8am Pacific. The earliest in the evening I could be on is around 5:30 pacific.
Burchie, please add me! I don't know if our times will overlap, but it's worth a shot.
I have the 350 level armor and would like to get it to 400, but don't intend to MW it.

I don't play very regularly on PC anymore, but sure, lets. We have our own clan's Discord, but if it comes to bunching up, I think I have access to an auxiliary Discord server we use when LFGing.
