Still entirely too early for my tastes.
Guess it's time to start putting together a blind crew. Xbox folks, let's talk about it and start making plans.

That’s ten days. That might be the longest ever.

Sure. Doesn't mean it's long enough (again, in my opinion). We've had this discussion before--Blind raiding is worth waiting for, and I hate feeling rushed to do it right away. All the good parts of just playing through the game fall by the wayside in the rush to get raid-ready. I'm not going to do that again--hopefully I can find a good group that is actually willing to wait for an extra week or two.

I'm free pretty much every weeknight after 5PM Central and can be free for pretty much any stretch of time on weekends as long as I know ahead of time.
I'll be getting an unhealthy amount of sleep to complete the story and be raid-ready as soon as possible, but I've got no problem waiting on the filthy casuals who aren't willing to put their health at risk for a video game, as long as we've got a full group committed to avoiding spoilers until the end.

I'm not going to say that I won't be ready by raid launch--for all I know I'll blow through Forsaken in a week.
But there's too many unknowns for me to want to commit to that. How's the level grind in Forsaken? How far do we have to climb? How much content is there between launch and the raid? Etc, etc.
I'd be shooting for the 18th (or whatever the beginning of the reset is now, given that it's every four days), at the absolutely earliest, and probably preferably the week after that just to be comfortable.
I honestly thought about taking a few vacation days around Forsaken's launch, but I've just got too much other stuff going on right now to justify spending three days doing nothing but Destiny.

Totally fair. I readily admit that my playtime during launch weeks is ridiculous and wouldn't recommend that anyone with a real job and/or any kind of social life put in that kind of time. My main motivations are to get through the content early enough to avoid any accidental spoilers and to be ready to raid whenever the group is ready. I don't even mind waiting a month or more to raid as long as I know there's a team willing to wait that long AND avoid spoilers. I just don't want to be the guy everyone is waiting on.

Not sure why I never considered that until you mentioned it. We're in the slow season of my job and I've got vacation days to burn before I (hopefully) move on to something a little better. I may now have Thursday and Friday of launch week free to game :p

Update: Vacation time approved. Looks like I'll be getting at least a little sleep during launch week.

I actually prefer non-blind raiding, so I’ll happily wait an extra week or two before I jump in. Either way, I’m excited :)

I may be camping that weekend, and I've been wanting to go hiking before it gets too cold. I'm willing to wait.
