It took roughly six hours, but I've now finished reading all the lore documents currently available from the Forsaken preload. (There's a whole lot!)
Where'd you find that?
Ishtar Collective Approximately 195 main documents + hundreds of gear descriptions. Be careful with the stuff outside the core lore documents. Things like Quest Steps have small descriptions that might spoil gameplay. I didn't see any, but it might be possible for Raid mechanic spoilers to be included as quest step text...
