You got it as a drop because you already earned the Claymore.

Folks that didn't do the Claymore grind in Season 3 will still have to get it the hard way. Folks that got Claymore already have the Broadsword in their loot pool.

It was just a way to keep folks with Claymore from bitching about not having the new and improved version.
