What are folks using now? Anyone found anything particularly cool, or are you using your old mainstays still?

We've already talked bows--they're awesome. I fully Masterworked the one Petra gives us in short order. I love it.

I also found a Go Figure pulse rifle. It dropped with Outlaw and Full Auto, and it absolutely rules. Hit hits pretty good, but it feels and sounds really great.

I also found a really neat Trackless Waste submachine gun. It has Tap the Trigger and Dynamic Sway Reduction. Tap the Trigger gives bonus initial stability and Dynamic Sway Reduction increases accuracy as you hold the trigger. I don't know if those perks synergize in a really great way or if that gun is just a pretty stable gun to begin with, but this thing shoots like a damn laser beam, and it is stupid fun to use.

I have a Dust Rock Blues shotgun with Smoothbore and Moving Target that I like quite a bit (a lot of my enjoyment for this shotgun is down to the way it sounds and feels to shoot--it's just got a great thwump).

I've got a Cut and Run energy scout rifle with both Outlaw and Rampage. It's a great gun on paper, but I just don't like it, which is a bummer. Garden Progeny is going to be a hard scout rifle to beat if I'm in a scout rifle sort of mood.

My Bad Omens rocket launcher has both Auto Loading Holster and Genesis (auto return rounds to the magazine if it breaks shields), so it's a good rocket launcher to never reload.

I'm still on the hunt for a good Auto Rifle. The Dreaming City is supposed to have a good one, so I'll be on the lookout for that.

What are you all using?

I like the exotic. something about those lighting shots. I managed to get all three bows (the fourths a secret--I presume a raid weapon). both my legendary versions have explosive heads. I find the bows all great for medium to long range but with my never issues I'm not a great aimer.

I also found a Go Figure pulse rifle. It dropped with Outlaw and Full Auto, and it absolutely rules. Hit hits pretty good, but it feels and sounds really great.

got one of those. I liked it at first but I got other weapons and now I don't like it as much when I go back. maybe if I find some perks I like.

I recently got that. I prefer auto's over submachine guns so I haven't tried it much yet.

I have a Dust Rock Blues shotgun with Smoothbore and Moving Target that I like quite a bit (a lot of my enjoyment for this shotgun is down to the way it sounds and feels to shoot--it's just got a great thwump).

I've got a Badlander in my secondary inventory that for some reason I love to use. it's got a hair trigger so I often double tap it when I only need one shot. As an alternative I've got a Toil and Trouble in my primary inventory but I don't like it as much. I recently got the Lord of Wolves but I couldn't use it very well so it went to the vault.

I've got a Cut and Run energy scout rifle with both Outlaw and Rampage. It's a great gun on paper, but I just don't like it, which is a bummer. Garden Progeny is going to be a hard scout rifle to beat if I'm in a scout rifle sort of mood.

I have not been using Scout Rifles much. I got a braytech rwp mk II but that's only because I'm working on a warmind questline.

My Bad Omens rocket launcher has both Auto Loading Holster and Genesis (auto return rounds to the magazine if it breaks shields), so it's a good rocket launcher to never reload.

for the life of my I have not got any legendary rocket launchers yet. I have a blue cup-bearer sa/2 that I keep getting with cluster bomb.

my goto heavy right now is a Edge Transit grenade launcher although I think i've done something lately in my armor perks that made it not as fun. I've recently got a Year 2 version of Play of the Game

I'm still on the hunt for a good Auto Rifle. The Dreaming City is supposed to have a good one, so I'll be on the lookout for that.

I havent got much but I keep the Misfit in my inventory. Right now I'm using Ether Doctor a lot

What are you all using?

I also have a Ten Paces hand cannon but I don't do good with hand canons so I haven't tried it very much.
havent got any Fusion Rifles in a while
Have some swords but I mostly keep them around for power, Abide The Return and Steel Sybil Z-14

I also found a Go Figure pulse rifle. It dropped with Outlaw and Full Auto, and it absolutely rules. Hit hits pretty good, but it feels and sounds really great.

I have a Go Figure, which is a palette swap of the Right Side of Wrong (down to the same exact writing on the side). Personally, I prefer the RSoW, since I use other Primaries. Mine has Headseeker, which basically turns it into Smite of Merain, my favorite D1 Pulse for a long while (also has a similar sound/cadence).
Plus, with Empowering rift and the Firmly Planted perk, the gun transforms into The Messenger from Year 1 of D1:

I also found a really neat Trackless Waste submachine gun. It has Tap the Trigger and Dynamic Sway Reduction. Tap the Trigger gives bonus initial stability and Dynamic Sway Reduction increases accuracy as you hold the trigger. I don't know if those perks synergize in a really great way or if that gun is just a pretty stable gun to begin with, but this thing shoots like a damn laser beam, and it is stupid fun to use.

Trackless Waste is great. Mine has Tap The Trigger and Kill Clip. Tap the trigger does make a huge difference, as it procs with every burst, and without it, the gun makes big S-shaped curves. Kill Clip is also a serious buff, and if you time the reloads right, you can keep it going as long as you keep killing.

I'm still on the hunt for a good Auto Rifle. The Dreaming City is supposed to have a good one, so I'll be on the lookout for that.

I found a Misfit with Zen Moment and High Impact Reserves. It's a bullet storm that glues itself to a target once I'm landing shots on them, and I plan to run it at low mag with War Rig. I'm hoping to find one with High Caliber Rounds, though.

I'm also really fond of Smuggler's Word. It's a two-shot sidearm that gives you one-hit melees if you land a couple of quick shots at an enemy's head. Mine has High Caliber, Moving Target, and Opening Shot, making it really easy to do some strong initial Headshot damage as I close the gap.

Fun stuff!

I still say that thing was possibly the best energy sidearm from Y1 (Traveler's Judgement is a strong contender, though), and since I haven't found a better one in Y2 yet, it still might be. New perks will spawn some interesting variants - yours sounds really good.

I didn't realize that was a year one weapon. It's pretty tough though in both PvE and PvP. It shoots super fast, reloads super fast and with the kill clip, it melts everything.

Yeah, I don't know how many, but at least SOME of the Y1 Vanguard weapons seem to have been brought into Y2, with the random perks available. I've seen a few Nameless Midnights (and Zavala even sells one version). Still hoping for Origin Story!

About a dozen Y1 weapons came forward. They are new weapons (cannot be used for glimmer-only infusion with Y1 versions) and they spread across a few vendors. Vanguard, Crucible, Gunsmith and the Engram rewards, I believe. I don’t know the full list but Antiope-D and Halfdan-D were also brought forward.

Working on my Crucible Tournament bounty. With a newly masterworked Last Dance, I completed the Arc kills in less than 2 games.

After another 4 games, I'm only about 25% complete with void and solar, each. I don't even have anything in my vault that I can pull.

I got a Right Side of Wrong with extended mag, outlaw, and full auto. That thing is crazy. Question: Will adding the backup mag perk add extra rounds on top of extended mag, or is it at its limit with just extended mag?

I haven't been a fan of the 110 rof aggressive frame hand cannons, but I got a Thin Line with moving target and outlaw and I love it. It has been my main hand cannon since. The range on it is great too.

I got a Wrong Side of Right with full auto and explosive payload. Scouts haven't been in a good place since the last update, but when they get buffed I will use it.

Kinetic:

  • No Turning Back Bow with Accuracy Masterwork

Energy:

  • Trust Hand Cannon with Drop Mag, Dragonfly, and Rapid hit (The thing just gives me precision hits all day)
  • Vouchsafe with Explosive Payload (I'm hoping to get one of these with a better roll)

Power:

  • Sleepless Rocket Launcher with Cluster Bombs

So once you're in the Dreaming City, one of Petra's weekly bounties is to present an offering to the Oracle. It gives you a chest, between that chest and turning in the bounty I got:

The Dreaming City Auto Rifle
The Dreaming City Sniper Rifle
The Dreaming City Sword
and the new Exotic Warlock Boots.
+ some dark fragments and glimmer

ALL of this was new gear for me. They all have excellent rolls. I now anticipate being unlucky for the next 7 years.

My favorite so far is the No Turning Back Kinetic Bow. I've fully masterworked it, too. This thing is just deadly! On a related note, I was chatting with Blackt1g3r about bow perks... this is why I prefer Explosive Head:

https://xboxdvr.com/gamer/nevindouglas/video/60285049

I've also got a Tigerspite Auto Rifle with Outlaw and Kill Clip. Turns out to be an incredible combo on an auto rifle that hits as hard and is as stable as this one.

For Energy Weapons, I've got an Arsenic Bite-4b Arc Bow that has Explosive Head and Rampage. Rampage turns out to be a great perk on a bow that can kill almost any low-level enemy with 1 shot. I can quickly kill 3 vex goblins, then turn towards a Minotaur and take it down with 2 shots.

I also quite like the Twilight Oath (Dreaming City Sniper Rifle). Mine has Drop Mag, Ambitious Assassin, and Outlaw. Vestian Dynasty is my other favorite energy weapon at the moment.

For Heavies, I haven't found anything new that I'm crazy about. I have a blast using the Abide the Return (Dreaming City Sword), but that's because of how it looks more than anything else. I spend most of my time swapping between Whisper and Sleeper.

I am almost always using a bow outside of Gambit. My go to is a Subtle Calamity with Dragonfly and Archer's Tempo.

Ace of Spades is awesome which I think we all knew, and since it's one of the few exotics I have at level it's the other gun I'm using most of the time, though that's definitely not a bad thing.

I have a Cut and Run I also use pretty often that has Outlaw and Genesis Rounds that I'm liking a lot.

The last gun I'm using most of the time is a Zenobia-D. Got one with Cluster Bombs and Impact Casing (does extra damage on direct hits). It absolutely wrecks, I love it. It's rarely been unequipped and I've probably spent 10 or more cores keeping it updated.

When I'm in situations where I'm taking heavy damage I'm still using crimson as primary. It's not new, but the amount of damage I can heal with this is ridiculous, so in situations where I'm normally going to die I can pull it out by killing trash mobs.

I've seen most of the weapons you've mentioned and have some copies, but haven't gotten any god rolls like the ones you're seeing, so I'm still using Basilisk (dead orbit season 3 shotgun) in energy slot. Rapid fire, auto loading holster, good range...just destroys orange/yellow bar guys at close range.

I haven't found a power weapon I'm really hot on either, so I've been carrying a purple linear fusion rifle or whatever has the highest power level, usually a vanguard grenade launcher. I haven't seen anything amazing yet but I'll keep a lookout.

I haven't found a LOT that I'm in love with yet, but there are a few:

Thin Line

Void hand cannon. Hits hard, nails headshots at longer range than I'd expect. Its only real weakness is its crap reload speed, but mine dropped with auto-loading holster, so I just swap away for a moment when it runs out.

Edge Transit

Like everyone else, I've probably had 6 or 7 of these things. :P The story with this one starts with Berenger's Memory, a Y1 grenade launcher. Back in Y1, grenade launchers weren't really on par with other heavies in terms of outright damage, but I LOVED Berenger's Memory because it had sticky grenades and auto-loading holster. So, I had a void version that I took into Vex areas to deal with charging minotaurs - when they showed up I could whip it out, confident that it would be loaded, and lay down a line of trip mines between it and myself. It was perfect, and I didn't think I'd ever get rid of it. BUT, I had an Edge Transit drop with sticky grenades and auto-loading holster, PLUS rampage. Every stat on it is higher than Berenger's Memory, except velocity, which I don't really care about, and magazine size is equal. So, it's just an enhanced version of what was already a favorite Y1 weapon, with no real drawbacks. PLUS the big grenade launchers have been majorly buffed now, so it's viable as a boss killer as well.

Right Side of Wrong

Decent in any form, but I finally had one drop with Outlaw and Full Auto, and it's good. Real good. I haven't yet decided whether it's going to replace my solar Inaugural Address - I still need to test them one after the other and see which I prefer - but the fact that I'm even considering it should say something.

Fighting Lion

I know this one isn't NEW, but I'm convinced that something happened in the pre-Forsaken patch to buff it. It was always good, but it seems to be doing more damage than before. At one point durign the Forsaken campaign I even tested firing it and some other drum-fed (heavy-class) launcher at a boss, and FL was doing about 1000 points more damage. I had them BOTH equipped at the same time, so my power level wasn't changing or anything in between shots. It's not a drum-fed launcher, so in theory I don't think it should have gotten a damage buff, but perhaps it's tied to that class for some weird reason, having to do with it being a non-standard launcher? In any case, aside from the (possible) damage buff, it also uses primary ammo now, which means you're generating white ammo boxes on EVERY FL kill. It's already hard to run out of primary ammo in this version of D2, and with FL equipped I'd call it impossible. This is the security room after I finished clearing it with FL:

My main loadout these days works in most modes (everything except Crucible, actually):
Cerberus+1
Waking Vigil (Extended Mag/Triple Tap/Firefly)
Sleepless (Kill Clip/Cluster Bombs, Masterworked with Handling bonus)

When I need a scout rifle, I'd been going to Distant Relation (Auto Loading Holster/Opening Shot), but that wasn't working for me in Crucible, so I gave Cut and Run another chance (thanks, Beorn), and my Opening Shot/Firefly version makes me happy.

When I need to free up the Exotic slot for Sleeper or Whisper, I've got a Tigerspite with Tap the Trigger and Quickdraw; I'm still looking for better perks, but it's pretty decent.

Sometimes I run double handcannons; my Y1 masterworked Midnight Coup (or sometimes Better Devils, though I'm moving away from that these days) coupled with either the Waking Vigil (if I need an exotic heavy) or Sunshot (which is simply incredible now). Still hoping for a Trust one of these days... and maybe, someday, I'll get enough Invader kills to advance the Ace of Spades quest. Probably not, though.

I'm out of cores. :(

First things first, I have to mention my favorite gun roll to date, on a 180 Hand Cannon called Trust. And let me tell you, it's name plays out with this roll.

  • Precision Frame
  • Drop Mag (or Alloy Nag) - Reload Speed
  • Outlaw - Reload Speed
  • Explosive Payload
  • Fully Masterworked - Reload Speed.

Currently has Backup Mag installed. 9 shots -> 12 shots.

TL;DR - Fast Firing (for a Hand Cannon) and REALLY fast reloading.

Oh. ma. GOODNESS is this thing fun to shoot. Becuse it has drop mag, I TRUST that I can reload faster then the other person can drop me, and so far, the odds have been pretty good. I freaking love this thing, and look forward to bring it up to proper light.

Other guns with decent rolls include:

  • Tigerspite Auto w/ High-Caliber Rounds, High Impact Reserves, & Kill Clip
  • Hazard of the Cast w/ Light Mag, Triple Tap, & Outlaw

I'm still figuring out some other weapons to see weather I like the roll or not.

All of my Crucible loadouts revolve around this gun now. It was my first Forsaken drop and I used it because it was there. Now I can't stop. Mine has Zen Moment and two range boosting perks, with a fully maxed range Masterwork, and the Hipfire mod for the air games.

I have not had this much success with a Handcannon since Thorn/TLW/Hawkmoon, and I have Ace of Spades. It'll be my baby until I hopefully grind out Luna's Howl.

I decided to install backup mag on my Thin Line yesterday and I was SHOCKED at how much it added (it is also a 9-round hand cannon, and also went to 12). I was expecting, based on what magazine masterworks used to add, to get probably 1 extra round. And, honestly, in an aggressive hand cannon, 1 extra round could potentially be an extra kill, so that wouldn't have been terrible. But a 33% mag increase is huge. Makes me think it might actually be worthwhile on other weapon types, which a mag masterwork often wasn't (it only added 2 or 3 rounds to the 720RPM autorifles).

I haven’t found anything particularly exciting. Bows don’t seem to have a massive perk spread and those are he main weapons I have been playing with. However I have been running a Better Devils with Rangefinder and Timed Payload. Of the minimal time I’ve been able to invest so far into Gambit trying to get those Hand Cannon kills for that one Quest it is the only HC I have had any luck with. So thay is pretty neat.

I have an Ether Doctor with Zen Moment and Under Pressure (A Trackless Waste with the same as well) and it feels pretty good, though I’m hoping that is the weapon itself and I can get one with better perks. I’ve sharded every Edge Transit but the first one I got, Proximity with Autoloader and Rampage. Nice group clearer that I can rely on being loaded - when I have the ammo.

Everything else has been serviceable. But most of the excitement has been from bows.

The Tigerspite that dropped for me with Triple-Tap is awesome. Just hold down the trigger and aim at the head until whatever you are shooting goes away. Add a counterbalance mod to make it even more accurate. :) I feel somewhat obligated to run this all the time.

Misfit is another fun auto-rifle. Not sure what my perks were, but the thing is a bullet hose. Too bad it sucks in the Crucible but I have lots of fun killing enemies with it.

I don’t have any Dreaming City weapons yet! I want one of those!

That’s what I was using in the strike we did last night. It’s fun! And sounds incredible.
