The Clan reward available from Hawthorne if a fireteam of clan members completes the raid is a tier 1 "powerful" engram that can boost power levels above 380.

Perhaps I misunderstood the question. The rewards in the activity are capped at 380 but can be infused (or bought from benedict I believe) up to 600. Correct?

Correct - all year 1 legendary and exotic gear can be infused up to the current maximum light level of 600.
