This... this would make me break something. (Destiny)

I mean... Gambit ALREADY makes me feel unhappy. If this happened? Geez.

This... this would make me break something.

Well it clearly said Opponent defeated and the seal was red, so...

Its a funny WTF moment, and he's reacting like a cruel injustice was brought upon his village.

But anyway, it was news to me that the enemy team quitting on you denies you the Ascendant Primeval win (no Malf for you!), and that teams have been quitting when they notice that your team is the one with the VoR. Kind of a douche move.

But that's what happens when you get an RNG spawn with RNG drops that requires you to win.

I’ve been really trying to embrace the RNG nature of Destiny and not let it get to me.

But man, the start of that quest is really bothersome. And we beat the first encounter of the raid last night. Instead of getting new gear, I got a Vigilance Wing. Like, what a fucking let down. The exotic RNG is just complete bullshit. Bungie either actually doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing, or it’s a studio filled with masochists. “We make games we want to play!” Well, you all want to play some really bad shit sometimes, then, you mooks.

(As usual, I’m not as salty as this all sounds. It’s just frustrating sometimes. Not even all that often. Destiny 2 is currently like 99% amazing. I just hate having cool stuff withheld arbitrarily, and getting duplicate drops instead of something new and cool. Like look at all this cool shit we added to the game! What? You want to play with it? No, no, no, here, play with this thing that you’ve been using for a year instead. It’s fucking stupid.)

The thing that really gets me is that this is like the sixth or seventh time that Bungie has said "we're increasing the chances that your reward will be something you don't have!" with regards to exotics. They've literally been saying that since Destiny 1, and the fact that it was an issue in D2 at launch is ridiculous. That it's still an issue is pretty unacceptable (I still don't have some Year 1 exotics for my Xbox Titan and Hunter, only recently getting Orpheus Rigs and Armamentarium).
And not to mention the Fated Engrams which STILL don't work, and which they promised to fix way back in the CoO days.

The latest update of "we're increasing the chances that it'll be something new" says nothing. If exotics are super rare drops now, they need to be new stuff (or they need to completely override the need for infusion resources when we infuse them into our gear, on top of doubling as powerful drops).

This is one piece of programming I can say for sure is easy to implement. If the exotic is in your collection, then drop a different one. Very very simple. It's not like exotics have random rolls and you'd ever want a dupe.

But the best solution is to allow you to re-roll the drop if it's something you have. If you WANT a dupe, like maybe you want one for another character or something, then you can keep but. But if you don't you can re-roll.

The reason why this isn't implemented is that Bungie does NOT want to make the best game possible. Again, all of these player friendly things that make the game more fun defeat the purpose of the investment system which is to purposely add frictions to the game so you take longer to do everything. Their #1 priority is not you having fun. It's you continually playing. Fun is #2.

What do you mean "Fated don't work"?

They introduced Fated Engrams and it has given people duplicates since it was introduced. The first weekend was especially bad. It’s always worked for me, but there have been consistent reports of it not working since they added it.

Obviously, if you have every Y1 exotic, it’s useless now anyway.

The only time I've got duplicates for it (since mid-Osiris, at least), has been when I wrapped up all the Exotic armor on the character I was buying with

You're being sarcastic, right? I just saw the video today, and the guy didn't even raise his voice. If anything, he took that Classic Bungie very well. Claude's reaction is more excitable, and it was typed. lol

And according to the other posts in the thread, if there's a quest or some exotic or special weapon that depends on wins again(gg, Bungie)—and if that guy's team just won and had it counted as a loss, then it is a cruel injustice. I hadn't played Gambit (now that I think about it, I haven't played Destiny 2 at all) since last time, but if something that broken is happening, it makes me wonder if this wasn't rushed too.
