This is curious...
I'm intrigued. :)
Me too! Even if I do end up having to buy Cody a Naughty Dog game.

They sure mention mobile phones and handheld devices a lot in the filing…

We were super excited about Aerospace once upon a time...
...or at least *I* was.
No hype until we have more details.

(cut to 2021 E3 Matter unveiling presentation)
Bungie presenter: “... and those mountains in the background, you can actually go there!”
Crowd: -explosive applause-

First thing I did when I saw that headline on google was to check whether matter.bungie.org was live yet ;)

Yeah, look how that turned out.
Mobile games are a dead end creatively.
I don't know wtf you're talking about...

But seriously, can you name one AAA mobile game that is either awesome and exclusive to phones, or mutliplat and better on the phone? I can think of zero.
Infinity Blade

And the 2 sequels. I also preferred the XCOM series on my iPad/iPhone than the computer.
Anomaly was blast too.
+1

I can’t handle another Bungie.net split.
Are we going to lose half the community again while DBO withers away?
I mean, of course that will happen eventually. I’m not ready yet.

No. NO! It will never happen. NEVER!!
I passed a college course with a thesis on Flappy Bird.

Better in the Arcade by far
Or do you mean to tell me it's better on the iPhone than on Mac/PC/PS4/Arcade?!
Better in the Arcade by far
It is better on iPhone due to the fact that I’d have never played it otherwise. You underestimate how important having a game in my pocket is. I would 100% have just played something else if it was only on console. And physically dragging the hole around feels good. And it’s only five bucks on iPhone versus fifteen. And you get some sweet BK iMesage stickers with it.
Yeah, I can confidently say the mobile version of Donut County is the best version.
Have a Garbage Day!

I understand this perspective, but it is not a very good argument. By that logic, you could say that the Game Boy version of Mortal Kombat was the best version because that's all you could play. There exists a reality outside of your own experience. For someone with a sweet gaming rig, playing with advanced graphics and audio options makes the game better. For YOU it might make the game worse because your framerate plummets to unplayable levels. But that doesn't mean low is better than high.
Did you watch Dunkirk on a phone? Does that make it the best version? I mean a lot of people couldn't see it on 15 perf 70mm film right? So would you say that's not the best version?
Better in the Arcade by far
Sure. But we’re not talking about an intensive game. A PC with a 1080 isn’t going to run Donut County better than my iPhone. They’re basically identical. I’d argue that touch input adds something to the game, if only a little.
Arguing which version is best is dumb to begin with, because it’s always subjective. You always issue these challenges that are literally actually impossible because they’re purely subjective. Is the Switch version of DOOM or Wolfestein the best? I’d argue no, but for folks that don’t have a lot of time, the fact that they’re portable versions that can be played on a plane or in the car might make them the best by default.
Sword and Sworcery was also much more enjoyable on mobile for me, by the way.
Better in the Arcade by far
Dunkirk was an unnecessary film.
And dedicated gaming rig versions of games best suited to a mobile platform are also unnecessary.

I am still looking for a game 'best suited' to a mobile platform. Literally the only genre I can say works best on mobile are the 'found phone' games like Another/Normal lost phone.
Also note that mobile and handheld are different, and some games ARE best suited to handheld.
I don't know wtf you're talking about...
Not triple-A, but I'm sad that Flight Control is no longer a thing. Though I guess I only played that on iPad so I can't comment on how good it was on iPhone. That kind of game wouldn't make any sense without a touch screen.
