Can I treat this the way I treat free games on my consoles or steam, i.e., claim it but not download it immediately?
I should think once you claim it you own it regardless, but I'm not familiar with battle.net.

Believe so. Should probably go in and start the download and as long as it starts, you should be good.

No fricking way. I've given up on two. :)
This is for the unlikely scenario where enough pieces fall into place: namely, I buy a new Mac or Macbook with eGPU, cross-saves become a thing, etc.
